I wouldn't let go of Archie. The tingling in my heart wouldn't stop.
"EJ, are you okay?"
When I finally let go, he cupped my cheeks. "What's wrong?" He pleaded with his eyes.
I held his hands in mine. Trying to understand what was going on with me.
"I don't know."
He patted me on my head. "It's okay EJ. I'll always be by your side. You not knowing means me finding out. I'm your friend and you're mine. Don't forget." I smiled at that statement remembering how I asked to be his friend the first day I met him.
"Archie, smile." I pulled on his cheeks like he did to me on that day. Archie smiled so widely.
At night I thanked the stars for having sent Archie to me. "Thank you." He was what I needed. Someone who would listen to me, asked if I was okay and made me smile. My heart wasn't hurt by him. It was healed.
