Wesley's Side of Things:
My baby sister is out here in this weather with a family who has been protecting her. My mind is reeling with different thoughts. I wish my mind would just shut down for a day. But my baby sister is here. She's finally here. I remember her leaving the airport with a sad look, I remember her calling me and talking to me. I can't wait to see her.
I finish lacing my boots, when I hear Cassidy's annoying voice. "Wes, where are you going?"
"Don't call me that. I'm going out." I reply back to her, making sure to keep my sentences short.
"Out? Are you insane!? Going out in this weather would be dangerous."
"Don't care. I'll be back."
"Then I'm going with you."
"No."
I walk to the door and start to open it, but she gets in front of me with her arms crossed.
"What are you doing? Move out of the way, please." I ask her.
"No. I am going with you and that's final."
I sigh, "I'm not letting you come with me. It's too dangerous and you could get hurt. Just stay here."
"I don't understand what the big deal is with going outside. You want some donuts? I'm sure they have donuts here. Want coffee? They have that here too."
"I don't want any of those things, okay? My sister just arrived and she is stuck on the flooded street with the family who has been protecting her. I'm going to go rescue her."
"You have a sister?"
I pinch the skin between my eyes. I'm not in the mood for her dumb thinking right now. "Are you serious?"
"No, I'm joking. Now, I'm going with you."
"No."
She starts screaming, "MOM!!"
I place my hand over her mouth, "Fine, you can go with me, but keep your mouth shut. Don't talk when I tell you not to. Don't run off. You got it?"
She smirked and nodded. I drop my hand from her mouth, grab her shoulders, and move her out of the way. "Let's go."
We get out in the hallway, when she bombards me with a stupid question. "Soo, are we going to get wet?"
I sigh, this is going to be a long walk.
