Later that day, at about 6:30 I received a text from Nash.
Nashypoo: meet me at our swings in half an hour, wear something nice, but not too nice
Hmm... What was he planning? I really didn't know.
"Nice but not too nice? What does that even mean? " I asked myself, staring into my closet.
I eventually picked out a cute sunflower play suit and a pair of white sandals, also bringing along a knitted sweater, just in case it got cold.
I checked my phone, 6:50, I better get going now. Since it was getting dark I took my car instead of my skateboard.
I made my way through the park, eventually getting to the swings, only to see Nash sitting on a picnic rug, waiting for me.
"Oh my gosh" I whispered. He had set out candles, pizza and a slice of chocolate cake on top of the rug.
"Come sit down" Nash said, patting the spot beside him.
"This is so cute and thoughtful" I exclaimed, kissing him on the cheek,
"Nothing less for my Lillypoo" he said, handing me a slice of the sizzling pizza.
After finishing all the pizza it was time for the cake, I got out a spoon and took the first bite.
"This is so good, oh my god" I said, enjoying the taste.
"Here, give me some" Nash said, opening his mouth.
I put some cake on my fork and quickly smeared it onto his cheek, earning a surprised gasp from Nash.
"Oh... You're gonna pay" he playfully growled, putting some icing on his finger.
"Don't you dare" I warned. But it was too late, he had already smushed the icing into my face.
"Nash!" I squealed, wiping it onto his shirt.
He erupted in laughter, pulling me down to the ground on top of him.
"Hey you missed some" he stated, smirking at me.
"Where?" I asked, wiping at my face frantically,
"Here, let me help you with that" Nash said, bringing his lips to mine. I could still slightly taste the chocolate cake as our lips moved against each other's.
"Got it" he declared, pulling away from me.
"Smooth" I giggled, laying down next to him.
The stars were out by now and they were especially bright tonight.
"They're so beautiful" I whispered, scanning the night sky.
"Not as beautiful as you" Nash whispered back. I smiled at his cheesiness, laying my head on his chest.
I lay there for a while, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat while he ran his fingers through my hair.
"I love you Lilly" Nash whispered, stroking the side of my cheek.
I looked up at him, his blue eyes still visible in the dark,
"I love you too Nash"
