"I love the smell of rain, and I love the sound of the ocean waves." ~Amy Purdy
Rain is the thing that feeds the plants which feed us, do not worry when ahead is only rainy days. That is when things begin to grow.
{~*chapter 2*~}
It was dark by the time she finished her book, she had found a matchbox to light the candles so she could continue. She found that once she started to read the words shaped into a picture which whisked her away into a specific world. She adored the special way words could flow as she continued even if it meant watching a few characters losing their place in each story. Maybe this is why she found reading a much better pass time than hanging out with a few friends. It was a rare small place where she was no longer chained by society then Erika could relax after a stress filled day. Where no matter the time, it helped her understand herself better.
"Come on now, it's dark my dear. Why don't you place the book down and rest until sunrise?" a faint voice spoke up from the obscurity.
"Hmm, Angelica a few more chapters." She whined knowing that noise was her... angel?
"Nope, get off that seat and head off to bed. I'll read a chapter if you are quick." They responded back gruffly.
"Ok, what's your form today?" She asked placing the book down.
"A black cat with red eyes, now hurry up!" She spoke hastily as a cat jumped down onto her table.
She laughed as Angelica took her sweet time blowing out the candles, her tail swishing gently behind her. Erika stood as the cat looked up at her with ruby red eyes that seemed to glow while gold marking covered her cheeks. Angelica was a shapeshifter she befriended once in a field. It had seemed like a dream at first but soon she realised it was not, it was a miracle.
"Alright, look I'm moving and yes you can come inside just don't leave any cat fur or my new roommate will get suspicious. Can't have anyone knowing about our little secret." Erika laughed as she picked up her book and walked towards the door she had closed.
The shapeshifter growled slightly in annoyance, however, it was more playful than threatening. They walked through the flat silently basking in the darkness that surrounded them.
They had known each other for a while, ten years or a little more. It still didn't change the fact that Erika loved watching her change into her original form, like one of those magical girl change sequences. They made their way to Erika's room tiptoeing.
"What a pretty flat, I'm glad you listened to my advice." Angelica purred as she stopped for a quick glance at the place.
"I know, I know. Now hurry up before she gets home, I'll have a hard time explaining why there's a talking cat walking behind me." She giggled in a teasing tone.
"Erika we both know I would hear before you would." The shape-shifter deadpanned.
"Hurry up kitty cat!" She teased as she kicked open her door dramatically.
"Call me that one more time and next time I shapeshift it'll be a dragon," Angelica growled as she walked into the room.
The girl quickly went to the drawer where she had placed her jammies.( I have no idea what to call them except this. You know the stuff you wear to bed or when you're having a lazy day?)
She picked out the first ones her hand came into contact with. All she wanted to do was to tuck herself into bed and listen to her shapeshifter.
She was quick to change her clothes as Angelica wandered around the room looking at everything she could reach. At points, she would nod or swat at something as her markings shinned.
