"Crying is cleansing. There's a reason for tears, happiness or sadness."-Dionne Warwick

It seems that no matter how much I try, tears lack the strength to go beyond my eyes. Does that mean I'm broken or are my tears?

{~*chapter 5*~}

Erika was tired from all of the singing as she leaned against Angelica. Poppy was talking to a girl called Jane in a serious manner. Though Erika watched she could see how frightened both of them looked. What would make such an upbeat girl so shaken? She was too tired to listen as her eyelids closed gently.

"Flush was attacked a few days ago. Her pod was left in tatters. They'll be on land for a while from what I heard." Jane had tears in her eyes.

"How many are injured or dead?" Poppy placed a pale hand on her shoulder with a sympathetic smile.

"Willow said that twelve were murdered in cold blood, 23 were injured minor to life-threatening. Flush seems to be in the middle." Sniffled Jane.

"God, that's almost their entire pod! Do they know what attacked?" Poppy gasped loudly.

"No one knows, it attacked quickly and left no traces. Their priestess was murdered. The fucking priestess of all the mer in the pod...." Angelica was intrigued.

"No way! We need to catch it before it hits closer to home. Contact your mother and... him." She muttered hesitantly.

"You don't mean him right? Not a chance. never in a thousand years will I speak to that monster!" She growled turning away.

"I don't care about this history between Odin and you. The Muzh family have twice as much information on other beasts so please for the lives in danger!" She was desperate.

"He is a monster! He's feeds of pain and disappears, I can't talk to him again. His family is made up of cross breeds. They could kill me!" She started to walk away as tears made roads in her cheeks.

"Flush will die without their help. You know what that means, don't you? After all these years you still haven't finished your half of the deal." It sounded more like a threat.

"Flush... she wouldn't want me to do this." she faced away unable to meet her eyes.

"Flush is on her deathbed, blind and vulnerable. You truly don't wish to help her?" Poppy took two steps forward.

"I wish I could change that but Odin Muzh is not my hero, nobody's hero. A monster surrounded by death and decay." She turned around.

Her eyes were slightly blood-shot from how little crying she had down. Her cheeks near enough the same shade of red. Her eyes showed off the feelings she had towards the option of asking help from a man of cruelty.

Odin Muzh was no ordinary men like many around Jane. Unlike the others, he hunted things like Poppy or Angelica. He was a half-breed just like many in his family tree.

"You're just scared. She'll be dead soon and not from that creature. You'll end up just like your sad excuse for a mother." Poppy stepped forward so that they were a mere metre apart.

"I can't talk to that man ok? And anyway shouldn't you be dealing with the shapeshifter listening in." It was more of a statement than anything.

"I will but first we need to sort out this. You will talk to Odin or I will confront himself, do you understand?" Her voice came out hard and cold.

"You will deal with the aftermath." Was all she said as Jane left in a hurry.

The room was near enough empty by the time they finished talking as most had hurried off back home to warn their friends and family. Most of them were of beast or monster blood almost as if it was contagious.                                                                                                                                                                The computer that had once played songs was left abandoned as if it had never been touched in the first place.
