{*~chapter 6~*}

When Erika woke up she was greeted by a dim barren room. She yawned stretching as she glanced around.

The room was covered in shadows of darkness from the outside.

"Woof!" Something yelped startling Erika.

A large canine stood at the door its baby blue eyes meeting hers.

She was sure that dog might have been Angelica but there was no signature golden pattern anywhere on the mutt.

They were pure white with the freshest pair of blue eyes. A breed of husky perhaps?

"Hello?" She spoke out watching carefully.

"Woof woof!" It responded sauntering over to her.

The dog kneeled at her feet as its tongue lolled to the side in a friendly manner. Its tail wagged side to side faster than her eyes could keep up with. It wore a red studded collar with a name tag.

"Cute dog, you have an owner?" She stood up as it shuffled a few feet away.

The collar looked old and worn out with a few studs hanging off. Its tag was laminated yellowish paper probably from age or rain. She could tell that it hadn't been groomed in a while as parts of its fur were brown and grey.

"Are you a stray?" She pondered placing a finger over her lips.

"It's late, You must have got in through a door or window." She uttered mostly to herself.

They began to wander out of the room in a pleasant stroll basking in each others presence. She saw the door she had entered the building from a few feet ahead. She kneeled down taking a look over the dog as she grasped the tag trying to decipher what the dog's name was. Jasper Count, Female, breed-husky. So Jasper was a she then?

"Jasper fits you, do you have a home I don't see an address," she beamed letting the dog give her hand a playful lick.

She stood up watching the dog run ahead of her paws thundering on the wooden floor. Jasper turned towards the door pushing it open with her front paws while using her hind legs as a boost of strength. She turned happily barking at the confused and still slightly half asleep human. Erika followed the dog out of the door glancing around to see if it had an owner that it wandered away from. She was almost completely alone as she hovered by a shrub planted neatly on the campus. Jasper was bounding across the brick pathway freely with her ears perked high. She felt a small smile tug at her lips as she ran after the hyper mutt.

Even though the sky was dark she focused more on the shinning milky white disk and the twinkling bulbs in the sky. She could see a few stray students resting on benches or against the cracked brick walls.

They wandered the streets for a while in bliss ignoring the strange looks from drunks or those who were working late.

She followed that husky around blindly unaware that its prancing was intentional not just some dumb creature fooling around. She looked up to see her flat above her. She turned back to Jasper but she had taken her leave silently melting away into the darkness.

She stalked up the stairwell knowing the door would probably be left open so she could enter, well she hoped so.

She was able to open the door as she tripped over her own feet blindly unaware of Angelica who stood there watching her.
