It Hurts

It's pains me so.
Knowing that I'll never know, the warm touch of your hands.
I'll never know how rough or soft they are.
I'll never know if they're calloused or smooth.

I'll never know how fast your heart beats.
I'll never know the full sound of its rhythm.
I'll never know the full crescendo of its pounding.

You say your heart flutters when I send you pictures.
You say my smile makes your knees go weak.
You say my eyes sparkle with a strong flame of desire and longing.

But, you don't know something you should.
That flame that dances in my eyes is only this bright when I'm looking at you.
Only this strong when your voice becomes my lullaby at night.
Only this vibrant when you smirk and smile at my existence.

I can't understand why someone so internally beautiful could love me the way you do.
I don't understand how you can tell me every early morning before the sunrises that you are thinking and even missing me.

I don't know when I became eternally attached.
I don't know how I got you so wrapped around my finger.
I don't know how I made that honey voice mine.

Yet, I'm not complaining.
For you are my existence.
My smile only reaches full potential when my phone vibrates from your message.
My laugh only lunges at maximum volume when you make one of your quirky faces.
My rosy red cheeks turn to more than just rosy, they turn to a deep dark cherry from the heat burning inside them while watching you focus on your game.

My confidence has always been the size of a sunflower seed.
Myself esteem has always been the size of a green pea.
But, with you, they grow to something larger than the sun.
They grow to become something more than I ever dreamed they could be.
All of these things have been unlocked like a new character in a video game.
All of this happiness was only achieved because your bright smile is what made the cage around my heart shatter.

You shattered the mirror of my self wallowing.
And to that.... I can only say, that I'm madly in love with you and that I dearly hope, you won't fall out of love with a simple girl like me.
