Your Shelter

My body is a planet being taken advantage of.
I gave them beautiful curves that made mountains of confidence and spirit. I gave them stretch marks that dug coursing rivers and streams across the fields of green. I gave them love which supported their atmosphere.

My wants and dreams gave them ideas and passions. My ideas and thoughts gave them animals and plants! I gave the people living on my earth, a world in which they can forever explore and examine!

My stress and anxiety made the deepest oceans. The voices gave people the jump scares many of them desired. My love gave them the happiness they craved! My happiness gave them the hope they dreamed of! My success gave them a way to clap and applaud one another!

The beating sound of my heart gave them the pounding of war drums. My tears that fell gave them the rain they needed for their fields. My anger gave them the fire to create light for a new day. I gave them so much of me! I gave them little and I gave them everything! I gave them a world of possibilities great and small!

And they still erode me.
Every letter of how they wanted to leave, yanks a tree from its roots. Every word of their hatred sucks me dry of water. Every sentence that ends in suicide makes me shiver and causes my atmosphere to dissipate a little more.

I'm dying.... You're killing me....

Friends, can't you see?
Can't you see my inner turmoil? Cant you see my anxiety growing deeper than the darkest ocean? Can't you see my body growing to form more rivers and streams? Can't you see that with every mountain that forms from your selfish lips, brings me into a world that's even farther into the one of self wallowing I'm consumed in.

I gave you so much... and you stole every last drop of me. I gave you everything and you took my kindness and returned it to me ruined. I gave you my all... I shared with you the secrets that no other life should learn of. I told you my past and how I came to be. I told you everything! And you took everything for granted!

But... don't you see that the more you hurt me... the more your home begins to crumble. With great power becomes great responsibility. We all know that, but all you see is greed. You don't see that you're ripping your paradise and home apart.

But, it's okay. I forgive you.
Because I love you and maybe one day.....you'll love me just the same. 💚
