Your smile changed from picture to picture.
An ever so changing laughter that started from the sound of a child's giggle to the laugh of a happy woman.
You're my sister.
I remember the days we shared a room in that trailer house. Watching you from across the white tiled floor.
Sitting upon my bed beneath my Dora blanket while you lay on your side and try to sleep to the sound of the still turned on box TV.
You're my buddy.
I remember sitting outside your bedroom door and listening in on your conversations.
Then having to scurry away once you opened the door and began to chase me off.
You're a piece of my puzzle.
I remember the day we went to the doctor for your regular check ups and I came along to get one too.
I remember our confusion and our sadness when I was diagnosed on your birthday.
You're my shoulder to lean on.
I remember struggling to keep the mushy IHOP strawberries in my mouth.
Only to giggle and laugh once they fell back into the cup and that bright smile you showed turned into a laugh.
You're my best friend.
I remember when you let me sleep in your room.
Still loopy from the medicine I received after my surgery.
Even though you did take a picture of my sleeping face, I'll always love you.
You're one of my goals.
I remember when I learned you were pregnant with Maddy.
That happiness I felt in knowing that another little you would be running around.
I remember when I was a able to be apart of your surprise engagement during Christmas photos.
I remember being a part of Maddy's first Halloween.
I remember every time you've made me food.
Every time you've brought me drinks before band practice.
I still can't tell which clothes are mine and which are yours anymore.
I remember all of these things.
Because you've shared so much happiness with me.
You've gifted me the pleasure of seeing you eternally happy.
You've blessed me with your smile.
I adore the freckles across your cheeks and I still love that black and white photo where we look like twins.
I love everything about you.
And so do many others.
So happy birthday Big Sis. I love you and I never will stop loving you.
