2 days later...

I walked going to my workplace.
"John?" someone called. I turned to see our manager. "Yes sir?"
"You shouldn't be here." he said. I was confused. "Why not, sir?"
"I heard you have a very complicated life now. You must go home and rest." he suggested.
"No, sir.. I'm fine. I can work." I lied, and turned to my seat. He held my shoulder. I turned.
"Go home. Get some rest. Come back next Monday." he said. I bowed down my head.
"I'm giving you day-offs.." he added. I was having second thoughts. Then nodded.
"Okay. Yes sir. Thank you sir.." then I got my things and headed off.
I walked out the building and began walking at the sidewalk. I pulled out my phone to check the time. Suddenly, someone bumped into me, making my phone fall to the concrete floor, destroyed.
I looked at the person who bumped into me. A lady with a messy black-brown hair, wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, and a long orange skirt.
This is going to be another bad day for me.
She gasped looking at my phone, "Oh my gosh! I..I'm so sorry, sir!"
She kneeled, trying to get my phone. "Don't!" I said. She looked at me and stood. I kneeled and got my phone.
"I... I'm so sorry, sir.." she looked down with embarrassment.
"Do you know how much this costs?" I asked her. She still looking down.
"300 dollars!" I said, almost yelled. "And you have to pay for it." I added.
"Please, sir... I.. I don't have money for that... Please sir, I'm so sorry!" she begged and began to kneel in front of me, closing her eyes.
Oh this is so embarrassing.
"Hey! Get up! You're embarrassing me!" I whispered-yelled as I looked around, some people eyeing me.
"Forgive me, sir!" she almost yelled. I can't take this anymore. I grabbed her arm and made her stand.
"Okay..." I paused, looking around. "Where's your home?"
She just looked at her arm, held by me. I released her arm and asked again. "Where's your home?" she shook her head.
I looked around once more, then back at her. "Come with me.." then I walked going to the nearest restaurant.

I awkwardly stared at her eating her food. She looks very hungry.
While she chewed her food, she glanced at me, "Aren't you going to eat, sir?"
"Erm... My food is not yet served.." I lied. I let her eat. I'm not hungry though. She continued to eat. I observed her.
This is awkward.
"Where do you live?" I asked. She froze. She swallowed her food in her mouth. "Honestly sir... I don't have home.."
"Where do you stay then?" I asked.
"E-everywhere... I just sleep at the corner.." she answered. I looked at her with sympathy. She awkwardly turned to her food and ate.
I leaned at my chair. "I'm John Dorrance, by the way..." I introduced. She just ate there. It seems she didn't heard me. I got my tongue stuck to my gums.
"K- M- Marriett..." she responded. Oh she heard me.
"Marriett..." I prolonged, waiting for her surname. "An... Antique.." she answered. I just nodded. If she's done eating, where will she go? She doesn't have a place to stay. And I have these options in my mind, and I can't decide.
God, this is killing me.
She finished eating and let out a loud burp. I grimaced. "Geez, you shouldn't have done that. And..." I paused, looking at the dirt on her mouth. I sighed and got my handkerchief and gave it to her. "Wipe your mouth.."
She took it and began wiping her mouth.
I rolled my eyes and stood. She looked up to me. "C'mon, let's go.." I said.
"Aren't you going to eat?" she asked. "No." I replied and headed outside. She followed. Then I called a Taxi.
