12:02 am

I walked in my unit. As I walked in, I felt something's missing. Oh right, Marriett's gone. Oh wait, that was not Marriett, it was Kacey.

Now I have a conflicted mind.

I tried to walk to the balcony and laid on my lounger.

*

I woke up from my unexpected nap. Was it a nap or sleep? Maybe sleep.

I was awoken by the sunlight and a headache. I stood and immediately went inside.

"Marriett?" I called. I received silence.

     "Marrie--"

I forgot she's gone.

Who am I looking for?

Marriett or Kacey?

After Marriett's body was in the hospital, I spent the rest of my night, drunk.

I went to the bathroom to wash my face. I looked at the mirror, staring at my reflection.

I regretted. Why did I drink alcohol last night?

I took the glass of water and gargled, and then spitted.

I went to my room, just to see a green notebook on my bed. Her Diary.

I picked up the diary and sat on my bed. As I opened it, it wasn't a Diary. But her story.

A sticky note stuck in the front page, 'Jack, if you're reading this, hope you'll understand everything.'

After the accident, all I remember was, I woke up in a white room that seems to be like a hospital, but not. I got out from my bed or body and walked out the room. And of course, I can't leave Jack like this. He just proposed to me before the incident.

I walked around and I ended up entering a room. A woman, same age as mine, sat at the corner of the room staring at her own body, teary eyes. I walked up to her and asked her name. Her name was Marriett Antique. I asked her personal information, stories, and everything. And then I asked a permission to use her body for a few days. She agreed.

I woke up, already in Marriett's body. The nurses and the doctors were shocked to see me miraculously alive from Marriett's incident, which she slips into a coma for 7 months and didn't make it.Marriett's relatives, who are in abroad, already paid in advance by remittance.

But sadly, her relatives didn't like her. They didn't even bother to visit.

3 days later, the doctor said that I can get out. So I got the clothes and changed. Then I went out, to the place where he usually works. As I arrived at the sidewalk where the building was, I saw Jack going out from the building.

It was my time to move.

And that was the time, I started pretending being Marriett.

He was acting a little different, with his generosity still by his side.

And there was a time, I took a nap and dreamt about Marriett and she said I only have 14 days left. And in the last day, at exactly 10 o'clock, I will drift.

I asked him if it's okay if I stay for 14 days with him. And finally he agreed, by telling him the difficult life story of Marriett.

And every midnight, I decided to haunt him. It's not that I'll haunt violently, but to haunt with sign that I'm here by his side all the time. So everynight, I lie down on the couch and get out of Marriett's body for a minute, and continued to move things.

Between the days, there was a time that I looked over his picture frames. And just to see my picture there, I got my eyes stung. Then he came out from his slumber and noticed my teary eyes. I just told him another difficult life story. He comforted me and brought me into a hug.

I missed his hugs, and that is why I cried hard.

I miss my co-workers. Marriett's perspective became close with Jack's co-workers, just because he told me to bring him food every lunch at his work.

4 days left and I'll leave.. And honestly, I'm very tired of pretending. I just want to tell him right now but, I have to wait 'til the last.

News update, he invited me to a 'success party'. This is the best way I can end.

I can feel Jack's feelings towards Marriett. It's one of the reason why I'm tired of pretending.

Day 13, I decided to visit my grave. As I saw my grave, I miss my name. Kacey Andrews. One day left and I'll drift. It's like my heart broke.

~

Day 14, my last day. I am now in his room, changing for the party and my farewell. Just to tell you, I got my teary eyes now. And this is going to be my last words.

Thank you and I love you.

My tears streamed down my face as I finished reading. Suddenly, I heard the doorbell rang. I wiped my tears and went to the door.

As opened the door, I saw Charles standing there. "Charles... Come in. What brings you here?" I asked as I sniffed from crying, and led him to the couch.

"Sorry for your lose, John..." he consoled. I remained silent from my seat. He sighed. "Well... Actually, I am here to... show you something." he said as he brought out his phone.

"What is it?" I asked. "Last night, I saw you and Marriett talking at the Gazebo. So I took a video of you two from afar.." he said as he scooted beside me and played the video.

As I watched the video, it was the part when she told the truth. Then she lifted her hand to my cheek. I could hear her voice. "Then I saw... something.." he stated.

When she said the words 'I love you', a wind passed through us. But there was something unexplainable. "Wait.. What was that?" I asked. "That's what I am confused about.."

As the wind passed through, and when she leaned unconsciously, there was a white figure going away behind her, backwards like a wind. Kacey.

"That's Kacey.. Believe it or not.." I said.

"I believe you, bro.. The white figure looks like Kacey.. And I knew, that wasn't Marriett.." he said. I looked at him, confused.

"Marriett's almost my half-sister, when my father proposed to her mother 3 years ago. But it didn't happen. But I know Marriett a lot." he explained.

"She didn't even recognize me when I met her the first day when she brought you food." he added.

I couldn't believe Charles had a past with Marriett.

After all of those days,

Now I realized, she was still here by my side all the time.
