*** Day 8 ***

I woke up and stood. I walked to the balcony to see her leaning at the railing, making her hair fly by the wind. I walked beside her and leaned at the railing and greeted her.

Eighth day. Am I ready to move on? But the haunts' still not over.

*** Day 9 ***

Now, every lunch time, Marriett would go to visit me with the food, and with confidence. She would greet my co-workers. She is kinda like, well-known. That started yesterday.

She always smiles. Reminds me of Kacey when we had fun playing the guessing game. Her smile.

Ninth day. What is this feeling?

*** Day 10 ***

I walked to the balcony where Marriett was writing on her notebook on the table. I took a peek and saw the sentence '4 days left and I'll leave..'

After I read that sentence, my heart broke.

Wait.. Why did my heart broke? I don't understand.

"Marriett..." I called. She turned. "Yes?"

"If you'll leave... Do you know where you're going?" I asked. She closed the notebook and stood. "Do you want the answer for that?" she asked. I just stared.

"You'll know the answer on the last day..." she finished and walked past me.

     Meeting Room

"I'll have an announcement to make.." the manager said. We paid attention to him.

"4 days from now, we'll have a party, for the success of our company.." we clapped our hands. "Our attire will be formal. 9:30 pm. At my place." he finished.

"Dismiss." they headed back to their workplace. I stood and called. "Manager.." he turned.

"About the party, can I invite my friend?" I asked. "The one who always come here to give you food?" he asked.

"Oh.. erm.. Yes, sir.." I answered. He smiled. "Yes you can... Just her.."

I smiled. "Thank you, sir!" I thanked and went back to my place.

As I went back, I saw Charles and my other co-workers drinking coffee.

"Hey, where did you get that?" I asked. "From your friend."

I glanced at my desk to see the bag and the coffee. I immediately ran to find her.

"Marriett!" I called as I saw her almost going out the door. I ran to her. I took a deep breath and sighed.

"I thought you were busy with the manager, so I headed out." she explained.

"Well... Can you wait for me here?" I asked. "Now?"

"Well, maybe.. Yeah..." I paused, took a deep breath and continued. "You'll be going to a party, 4 days from now. I invited you. And we must wear must formal... So we'll get one.."

She thought and smiled. "But I have to eat first.."

She smiled and headed off.

Tenth day. As I stare at her going out, it's like there's a spark. What if...?

*** Day 11 ***

I woke up at the time of 3 am, just to hear the door creaking open. My door would not creak. Strange. I stood up to check up on Marriett.

She was still sleeping on the couch, peacefully. As I walked towards the couch, I heard a faint voice.

"John."

I stopped at my tracks and looked around. I saw the glass door of the balcony opened making the cold breeze enter. I stared at the balcony to see a white cloth swaying. But in my blink of an eye, it was gone, the wind was also gone.

"John?" someone groaned. I turned to see Marriett sat up.

"Did you saw that?" I asked. "Saw what?" she asked.

"Erm... Nothing... I think I'm just hallucinating..."

Eleventh day. It's getting strange..

*** Day 12 ***

Twelfth day. I think I have move on with Kacey. Honestly, I don't know. It's like she's forever by my side.

*** Day 13 ***

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"I'm just going to... buy something.." she answered.

"Want me to come with you?" I asked. She smiled. "No thanks.." and she went out.

Thirteenth day. One day left for her to leave.

Can we extend the day?

I think I want her to stay.
