*** Day 14 ***

8:50 pm

I had my formal wear. Tuxedo is my favorite wear. Now I have to wait for Marriett to come out of my room. I never seen her wearing a dress, yet.

I sat on the couch and waited.

Minutes later, I heard the door open. I turned to the door to see her in a White Elbow-Sleeve Lace dress. It's kinda like a cocktail dress. With her hair in French Braid. I stood up and smiled.

"You look..." I paused. She's stunning. "... Perfect." I finished. She just smiled sheepishly.

"We should go now.." I suggested. She nodded and we went off.

9:28 pm

The manager's house is like the White House from Washington D.C.. But the roof is kinda different.

We arrived at the manager's residence to see my co-workers walking around.

"Hey! John!" Charles called. I raised  I made Marriett hold my arm walked towards Charles.

"Hey there, Marriett! Didn't expect you to be here!" he greeted Marriett. She just smiled. "It's great to be here, though."

"By the way, where's the manager?" I asked. Charles pointed inside the house. We went inside the house and saw the manager talking to some clients. We went up to him.

"Good Evening, manager." I greeted. He turned to us surprisingly. "Oh! Good Evening, John!" he turned to Marriett. "Ahh... Marriett.. You look beautiful tonight!" he complimented her. She smiled. "Thank you, sir."

"Here, the two of you, bubbly." he gave us each a glass of bubbly. I looked at Marriett and we clinked the glasses and drank a bit of it.

The manager went up the platform, bringing his glass of bubbly and a fork. He clinked the glass and the fork together, making the guests turned to him.

"Hmm... I would like to thank everyone for coming here in this 'success party', for the success of our company. And... I like your dress codes." he said with a little bit of humor. We all chuckled.

"Well... Let's enjoy the moment!" he finished. We looked around to see all of them talking and walking around. I glanced at my watch. 9:35 pm.

"Marriett.." I whispered. "Can we talk?" I asked.

"Sure.." she answered and led her to the backyard. There were few people talking to a group and a private talk. We walked going to the Gazebo. It has flowers and vines around it with very angelic lights.

She let go from holding me and walked at the rail of the gazebo. "What do you want to talk about?" she asked.

"Can you remember, when I asked... If you'll leave, do you know where you're going?"

"What time is it?" she asked. I have to respect her, I glanced at my watch. "It's 9:37.. Why?"

     "When it's 9:45, I'll tell you --"

"Why can't you just tell me?" I asked in firm voice. She turned, upset.

"Are you angry?" she asked. I froze.

"Are you angry?" Kacey asked. I chuckled. "No I'm not! I won't be angry.. And that's a promise. Even to other people, I won't." I promised.

"Don't promise." she said. "Why not?"

"Promises are meant to be broken. Some people says that Promises are not meant to be broken, but then they realize, they are meant to be broken." she explained.

I stared at her, remembering the time when Kacey said that line.

"No..." I gulped. "No I... I am not..."

She just smiled. She removed the tie from her braided hair. She shook hair to spread. Now she has a perfect curly hair. She walked towards me.

"Jack.." she called. I froze. My nickname. Only Kacey call me that name.

"Did you just call me..." I paused. She smiled with her teary eyes. I furrowed.

"I'm so tired of pretending, Jack.." she confessed. I was so confused. Am I dreaming?

"I tried to pretend like the real life of Marriett, but I'm so tired!" she added.

"You want to know something unbelievable?" she asked. I just stared at her in confusion.

"You won't believe... I can feel it... From the first day you met Marriett, she was pretending, Jack." she said. I shook my head in disbelief. "Marriett, are you okay? Are you si--" I was cut off by her.

"I am not Marriett, Jack! Please!" she said as her tears streamed down her face. She grabbed my wrist and looked at my watch.

"I think it's time to tell you.." she said as she let go of my hand.

"Tell me what?" I asked in firm voice.

"I can still remember we met at your workplace when we bumped each other!" she paused.

Kacey?

"The time when you proposed to me. We were going to the restaurant, then an accident happened! I died, Jack!" she cried. I remained silent, frozen.

"I woke up from my body, I walked around to the other room, to see the real Marriett Antique." she pause as she gulped. "I said to her, if it's okay to borrow her life for a few days. She agreed. And then I woke up in this body, and went out to find you..."

"Kacey.." I mumbled.

"And to answer your question... I'm... going back..." she paused. "I'm going back to where I am supposed to be.." she finished.

"Kacey I..." I stopped at mid-sentence. She lifted her hand to my cheek. "Jack... Thank you, for everything... Thank you for your time.."

"Kacey.." I stared at her in awe with sympathy. "Jack..." she paused, her hand was still at my cheek. "I love you.."

I was there, speechless. She closed her eyes. A cold breeze passed through us. Suddenly, her body leaned towards me, unconsciously. I caught her by my arms. I slowly sat on the floor, holding her. She was gone.

"No... No no no.. Marriett.. Erm.. Kacey, no.." I mumbled.

"John?" someone called. I looked up to see Charles, surprised.

"Call for help, Charles!" I commanded. Charles ran for help.

     'I couldn't live without you'

I should've said it before she left.
