----Catching Up with One Direction----

--Simon's POV--

Since the show was over and most of the crowd is gone, I decided to walk up to each of the members of One Direction. I know I shouldn't before the big surprise tomorrow, but I haven't seen them in years.

First I walked up behind Zayn who was talking to Perrie.

"I can't believe how talented our daughter is. Have you known about this talent because this is the first time that I know about it?" Zayn said, rambling on and on about his daughters talent.

I waited behind him for a moment, until Perrie's face showed a flash of annoyance. I think this is a good time to cut in.

"Would you stop your rambling, you're annoying your poor wife." I told him with a slight smile spread across my lips.

Zayn stopped talking abruptly and turned around slowly. His eyes grew wide once he recognized me.

"Well don't just stand there. Hug the man." Perrie said with a huge smile and pushed him lightly toward me.

Zayn immediately wrapped his arms around me and started bawling. Did he really miss me that much?

"Did you really miss me that much?" I asked him as he was wetting my shirt.

Zayn quickly let go of me and quickly wiped his tears. We stood there in silence for a moment, until Perrie broke the silence.

"Are you just going to stand there all day or are you actually going to talk to your old boss?" Perrie said sarcastically, which caused me to chuckle.

"Sorry." Zayn mumbled. "So, you still judge the X Factor?"

"Yup. I have been mentoring your lovely daughter and her friends all season." I replied.

"Really?" He asked in confusion.

"Yup. Your daughter and her friends have been a hit since the very beginning." I told him

"Wait, she auditioned with a group?" This time Perrie asked in confusion.

"Yup." I replied.

"Who are the other girls?" Zayn asked.

"I'm afraid I can't tell you that." I answered.

"Anyway, it was nice to see you. I'll hopefully see you tomorrow." I added and walked off to find my next victum.

Next I found Louis, sitting by himself in the front row. I don't think he heard me coming, so I took the empty seat next to him. I noticed that he didn't even notice that I took the seat next to him. He just continued to look out into the distance.

"So... how's life?" I asked him sarcastically.

His head immedately snapped my direction and his jaw dropped and his eyes went wide. After a couple of seconds of sitting there in shock he jumped up, pulled me into a standing position, and literally jumped on me and wrapped both his hands and legs around me. I swear, this kid never changes.

"Okay, Lou, you're really heavy. Get off of me." I told him.

"Oh, sorry." He apologized and got off of me.

"So, seirously. How've you beem?" I asked him.

"Pretty good, actually." He answered.

"Good." I replied.

"I'm like still in shock that my daughter came out on stage with four other girs and sang two of my songs. I never knew that she had that much talent." Lou told me.

We spent the next few minutes talking, until I left him to find my next victum, Niall. He wasn't paying attention when I walked up behind him, so when I put my arm around his shoulder, he jumped a mile into the air, causing me to laugh.

"Simon?" Niall asked in confusion.

"Hey Nialler." I said, once I recovered from my laughing fit.

"You stil judging?" He asked me.

"Yeah. Actually, I got to mentor tht talented daughter of yours." I told him

"Really?" Niall asked me in shock.

"Yup." I replied.

We spent a couple minutes talking until I moved on to the next member, Liam. When I walked up to Liam, he looked a bit off two me. He was just sitting there, staring off into space. But it wasn't like Louis, who looked like he was waiting for his daughter to appear from backstage. Liam's eyes looked very distant. Suddenly I remembered Samantha saying something along those lines about her father.

"Liam." I said softly.

He didn't answer.

"Liam." I said again, but this time I tapped his sholders.

I guess he really didn't hear him before, because when I tapped his shoulder, he jumped 10 feet in the air.

"Are you okay?" I asked him when I had his attention.

"Yeah... I'm fine." Liam said with a slight smile on his face. But I knew he was lying.

"How have you beem?" I asked him trying to change the subject.

"I'm doing okay. How about you?" Liam asked.

"I'm good." I replied. "So you proud of your daughter?" I asked him.

"Yes, absolutely. I never knew that she was a singer." He told me.

"Well, she's a very talented one. Don't be surprised if she gets signed alongside her friends after the show's over." I said.

We stood there for a moment in silence, until Liam broke it.

"Liam, are you sure you're okay?" I asked him, seeing that his eyes were starting to water.

Then it happened, he broke down right there in front of me. I didn't know what else to do, so I embraced him in a hug. Aftter  he calmed down a bit. he explained everything to me, even though Samantha already ecplained the situation.

Afer a few more moments with Liam, I said my goodbyes and made my way to the final victim. Harry.

I found Harry standing around, looking like a lost puppy. I remembered Ariana saying something about her father being a mess after her mother left. I was debating if I should go up to Harry or not, when he spotted.

"Simon?" I said in confusion.

"Hey Harry." I said, walking up to him.

"What are you doing here?" He asked me.

"If you haven't noticed, I'm still a judge." I replied.

"Oh, sorry. I haven't really been paying attention." Harry admitted.

"So you weren't paying attention to the contestants?" I asked him in confusion.

Did he really not notice that his daughter was performing with her four friends?

"I was paying attention to the contestants, but I didn't really get a good look at the judges." Harry admitted.

"So, what'd you think of your daughter?" I asked him.

"She was amazing. I can't wait to go back to the hotel and catch up with her." He told me.

"About that.... you're kind of not allowed to talk to her until the day after the result show." I told him.

"Oh." Was all that came out of his mouth.

I kind of felt bad for him. He looked a bit hurt when I mentioned that he couldn't see his daughter until the day after the result show. And he looks like he's struggling to talk. Ariana was right. He is a mess.

"Well, I have to get going. It was nice to see you." I told him.

"Nice to see you too." Harry replied with a forced smile.

I walked away feeling guilty for Harry. I really hope the girls plan goes well tomorrow, because I really want to see Harry happy.
