----Receiving the Detention----

--Amanda’s POV--

“AMANDA COME ON! YOU’RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!” My father yelled from the kitchen.

“COMING!” I yelled back.

As you may know, I’m Amanda Horan and I’m 16 years old. I am captain of the cross country and track teams. But you probably already knew that too. But I think I’m going to quit cross country and track. I’m just not into it anymore. But my dad will probably be very angry because I have some pretty good scholarships for many excellent universities.

“AMANDA CAITLIN HORAN, GET YOU’RE BUTT DOWN HERE NOW!” My father yelled again, shaking me from my thoughts.

I better get downstairs. When he uses my full name, that’s when you know not to mess with him.

“I’M COMING DOWN NOW, DAD!” I yelled down.

I quickly grabbed my backs and ran downstairs.

“What took you so long?” My dad asked when I entered the kitchen and sat down at the table.

“I was getting ready. Duh.” I replied in a ‘duh’ tone, as he was putting pancakes in front of me.

I immediately dug into the pancakes. I basically inhaled all 3 pancakes within one minutes. If you must know, I have my fathers appetite. Don’t judge.

“Dang. You need to slow down when you eat.” He said with a slight smile when he realized that there were no more on my plate.

“Sorry.” I replied and put my plate in the sink.

“You have cross country practice today, right?” My father asked me.

“Yeah. I told you this a thousand times dad. I have cross country everyday.” I lied.

Cross country ended a couple of weeks ago, but I did I never told him. He doesn’t need to know that though. He thinks that cross country ends some time in November. So I’ve been hanging around school for a couple of hours after school and walk home.

“Oh yeah. I forgot.” He said.

“Well, I better go. I’m going to be late.” I said grabbing my bag and headed for the front door.

“Do you want be to drive you today?” He called out from the kitchen.

“No, its fine.” I called back.

I walked out the front door and began walking to the prison I call school.

--Elena’s POV--

“Elena.” Someone whispered and lightly shaking me.

But I ignored them. I’m enjoying my beauty sleep.

“Elena.” That same person said again, except it was in a normal voice and he shook me a bit harder.

I brought the blankets over my head and faced the other way in hopes the person would go away. But sadly they didn’t.

“ELENA JESSICA MALIK GET YOUR BUTT UP AND GET READY FOR SCHOOL!” He yelled, causing me a heart attack as I fell off the bed and onto the floor.

I turned to see my father standing there, trying to hold in his laughter, but sadly failing.

“What the heck was that for?” I said in an annoyed tone, after he was finished laughing at me.

“You have to get ready for school. Your mum left for work already and she told me not to let sleep in and be late school, again. But since you wouldn’t wake up, you are now about 15 minutes late.” My father explained.
