-Elias
I tossed in turned in bed all night, Xael was the only person on my mind and I couldn't seem to get her out. Shit, I don't want her to get out of my mind! Her and I shared a very tender moment together. I've never opened to anybody about my family, besides Raul. I haven't spoken about my father for months, sharing my personal business with her felt natural; not forced.
Xael carries this carefree and open-minded mentality that I wish I had. God, what spell has this girl put on me? I want to see her again, I crave her touch. How could I have been such a jerk towards her? All this time I thought she was this uptight aristocrat who just wanted to meddle with my feelings, little did I know she was a down to Earth girl who wanted to be friends. What's wrong with me, how could I be so stupid?
I hopped out of bed and went to the kitchen to get some water. Raul sat alone at the table on his laptop. "Hey bud, why are you up so late? Somethin' on your mind?" He asked. "No, just thirsty that's all," I said as I sped past him.
"Okay then, sweet dreams kid."
I poured myself a glass of water and went back to my room. I went on my phone and scrolled through our text messages. Over these past few weeks, her and I have gotten close. We hang out every day at Scraps or the park, we can talk for hours without getting tired of each other. As time progresses, I get more and more attached to her.
The Next Day...
"It's time to get up, Elias. I need help with Scraps today, c'mon." Raul instructed. Although, I'm extremely tired I have no choice but to obey. He went out of his way to let me move in with him when he could've told me to get lost. He's been nothing but nice to me, it would be selfish of me to ignore him.
I got into my working clothes and brought my sketchbook with me. Raul and I made our way next door.
Just Scraps is such a huge success, Raul put all of his investments and time into it. A lot of kids from Arclight come to hang out. This place holds a lot of memories, this where I met Chuey and he introduced me to Marq. Just Scraps keeps a lot of kids out of trouble. Instead of going out and watching a bunch of bimbos fight after school, we'll come here for fun.
Raul and I arranged the viewing room for the toddlers, he looked at me in a strange way which made me feel uncomfortable. "So, Elias... is that girl you're with every day your girlfriend?" He asked as he wiped the dust off the flat screen.
"Jealous much?" I teased. Raul sucked his teeth and shook his head, "No, I'm not jealous. That's just weird, eww!" He laughed. "But, seriously! She's a pretty girl, I think you guys would make a perfect couple."
I shook my head and continued to sweep. "Nah, she isn't my girlfriend. She and I are strictly friends."
"Don't you wish you guys were more than that?" I froze, "No, Raul. I don't." I said, ending this awkward conversation. "Young love... how sweet." He whispered to himself.
"Yeah, yeah." I groaned. I picked up my broom and tossed it into the storage closet. I plopped down on the couch and got on my phone.
*Ding*
It was a text from Xael, I opened it in supersonic speed.
"Eli Escobar! Are you available today?"
"Well, Xael Skilling. My schedule is tight, I've got a lot of coke to move."
"Haha, too cute! I'll be @ Scraps in a few. C U Soon <3"
"Bye."
My cheeks were incredibly red, I was so overcome with excitement! I see her every day, but I still get nervous when I'm around her. My palms get sweaty, my face gets hot, and my heart sinks whenever she speaks. I sighed, I locked my phone and held it close to my chest. The smile on my face grew bigger and bigger as I thought about her...
