"He kissed you, didn't he?" Will asked.

"Pfft, it was the other way around. She kissed him!" Lyndsey responded as she reenacted our kiss. "Oh, Elias! I love you dearly, I want you forever!" She yelled, drawing attention to our table.

"Lyndsey, can you not? You're embarrassing me!" I pleaded. Us three snickered while Rowan sat back and ignored us. She's been very negative recently and it's ruining the fun for all of us. "Why do they serve us this 'food', has the district given up on our health?" Rowan asked as she closely examined her chicken nuggets.

"So, why don't you do what we do? Make your own lunch and bring it to school, quit bitching and start making changes, Rowan." Will informed.

"Agreed," Lyndsey and I said in unison.

Rowan glanced at us and rolled her eyes, "Whatever, screw you guys. I'm out of here," She threw her lunch tray in the garbage and stormed off. "Geez, somebody's in a bad mood," I said to myself. "Moving on! Back to your Prince Charming, Elias Ruiz. How'd it go, I'm intrigued." Lyndsey says as she leaned forward to hear.

I shrugged my shoulders, "I mean, not a lot went down. He and I stopped talking to each other for a couple of days and I couldn't take it anymore! When my mother went to sleep, I grabbed my coat and ran off to Just Scraps, I know he lives around there so, I hoped for the best. Luckily, I saw him walking into a building and I stopped him. We had a deep conversation about life and two minutes later we're locking lips..."

Will and Lyndsey cheered.

"Had no idea he had it in him. Elias has always been silent, refuses to care for anybody. Now, you come into town and flip his entire world upside down? Xael, I hate to admit but, you're a boss!" Will says as he raises his juice pouch.

"Be quiet, Will," I groaned, I snatched the juice pouch out of his hand and drank what was left.

"Oh, C'mon! You could've asked!"

Will, Lyndsey, and I gathered our things and continued with our days.

I walked into my Honors U.S History class and sat with my group. Their names are Hazel Silverstein, Joe Hyung, Alicia White and Kieran Moss. Together we're a perfect team, we're on the top of our class. Although our teacher, Mr. Haughton is somewhat of a bully, he's always nice to us.

"Students, welcome to Unit Five: The Civil Rights Movement. Open your textbooks to page two hundred and twenty-three." He instructed. The flapping sound of us flipping through our textbooks filled the entire room.

"Xael! Hey!" Kieran whispered, nudging me with his elbow.

"What?" I asked, in an irritated tone.

"Your friend, Rowan. She wanted me to show you this,"

Kieran pulled an envelope out of his bag and slid it over to me. "What's inside? Did she tell you anything?" I asked. He shook his head no, "She didn't tell me anything. All I know is that she handed me this in the library during lunch, demanding me to give you that envelope. I asked what was inside, but all I got was a slap in the face!"

"Geez. That's so uncalled for, what's her poison?" I asked.

"I wish I knew! She's been such an asshole for these past few weeks, what's gotten into her?"

Kieran and I shook our heads in dissatisfaction, it is true. Rowan hasn't been nice me or any of her friends for a while. I know that she's a diva who doesn't back down to anybody, she's quite the tough girl but, recently she's been treating all of her friends like shit and it isn't fair to any of us. This mystery envelope she gave Kieran is messing with my concentration. Why couldn't she just hand the envelope to me face to face? Why be so sneaky about it and send a messenger?

I don't like this side of Rowan...

What is she hiding?
