"If you think you're getting out of here alive, you're in for quite a surprise!" The gunman strolled through the deserted hallways, searching for his next victim. His rifle dragged across the floor making a scratching sound that was unsettling to my ears. My breathing was heavy, unhitched, like I've been running for miles.
"Found you!" The gunman cocked his rifle and shot at the hiding youths.
"Turn it off, I don't want to watch this anymore!" I yelled as I covered my eyes. I buried my face in Elias's chest. He laughed at my reaction and didn't take me seriously. "You're afraid of this? Bullshit, this isn't even scary! Man up!"
"No, you man up!" I slapped him in the arm, I turned away and folded my arms, refusing to look at him. Elias shrugged his shoulders, "Alright, suit yourself. I'll just enjoy the movie by myself". He stared at the television screen with his mouth wide open, not paying me any mind.
Seriously? Is he really acting like I'm not in the room?
Being petty, I decided to get up and turn the TV off. "Hey, I was kidding around! You didn't have to turn off the movie!" Elias said with a mouth full of popcorn. I approached him and dropped down to his level, "All you had to do was listen to me and maybe I wouldn't have turned it off. Why don't we watch Love, Liza or, Pretty Woman—Oh, how about Dead Poets Society?" I suggested.
Elias rolled his eyes, "You want me to sit here and watch stupid chick flicks? Not happening, so can I please finish my movie please?" He asked. I shook my head no and blocked the TV with my body. "Jesus Christ, why are you being so difficult?"
"Don't bring Jesus into this, he did nothing wrong!"
Elias furrowed his brows, "Xael, you have two options. It's either you take a seat and watch the movie, or I'll drag you down to the ground and force you!" He threatened.
"Okay—fine!" I sat right next to Elias and waited for him to resume the movie, "That's what I thought." He whispered. While his back was turned, I grabbed a pillow and held it behind me. Gunshot sound effects from the movie were so loud, that I couldn't hear what he was saying.
As he was about to take his seat, I hit him in the back of the head with the pillow. "Oh, You're dead!" He shouted. He grabbed a pillow as well and we were hitting each other, making a huge mess in the viewing room.
Elias threw a big pillow at me which knocked me off my seat, "Ahh!" I yelled. Elias's eyes widened, and he got down on the floor with me to see if I was all right. "Oops, sorry!" He said. I dusted myself off and got on my knees, I grabbed the nearest pillow and held it close to me. "Oh, you're gonna be sorry, you—"
"Hey! Go easy on me!"
I straddled him and held the pillow over my head, ready to attack but, I suddenly stopped. "You..." I sighed. He and I huffed and puffed, struggling to catch our breath. We looked into each other's eyes, this looked like a scene right out of a Romcom.
His hands slowly crept onto my thighs, "Elias... what are you doing?" I whispered. I could feel my face getting redder and redder by the second, "Bye! I-I gotta" I grabbed my phone and purse and ran out of the viewing room, "Xael—wait!" He yelled.
My legs ran as fast as they could, and as far as they could take me! I had to get out of there before something I'd regret happened.
I hope that Elias doesn't take this the wrong way.
I did what was right for the both of us.
