I heard a knock at my door. I sighed, walking to my door. I opened it. Before I could say anything, Mira ran inside my apartment, throwing her things down on my couch. She looked like she was in a panic.
"What the hell is wrong?!" I beamed, aggravated at her sudden hurry. She began fixing the couches cushions, straightening the blankets, pillows, and fixing the table. "Idiot, what the fuck is wrong with you?!" I shouted. She turned, speaking in a nervous tone. "Okay, okay.. U-uhm.. well you see.. A friend of mine is coming over so you have to be nice okay!!" I grew wide eyed, shaking my head. She could have at least warned me about company..
"And, is this friend a human being?" I questioned. Her face grew flushed, and she laughed nervously. "Ehm.. m-maybe..?" I stomped toward her, grabbing her chin so she was looking at me. "Then you better hope I don't get hungry tonight, sweetheart. Or your friend will be digested." She pushed me off of her. I grabbed her chin once more, holding her arm as well. I held a tight grip. "L-let go.. Y-you're squishing my wrist.." She pleaded. I grinned, only to tighten my grip more. She shrieked out in pain, and kicked my leg. I did not budge. I moved my head to her shoulder to whisper. "Make sure this "friend" doesn't aggravate or annoy me. Or he surely will be killed. Now then, brat, finish straightening up. If your friend breaks anything or makes a mess, they're dead." She quivered, nodding. I let go of her arm, and her chin.
She once again began to make the apartment look presentable. The couches were neatly made, the coffee table was cleaned, and the carpet was vacuumed.
She sighed, wiping her forehead.
There was a knock at the door.
(Mira's POV)
"Come in, Hide!" I yelled, excited for his arrival. I looked to Akita, who had a menacing glare on his face.. Hide opened the door, closing it behind him as he walked in. He smiled. "Hey there, Mira." I smiled, waving. "Hi! This is Akita, and Akita, this is Hide!" I chanted. Hide came over to Akita, putting his hand out, signaling a handshake. I noticed that Akita was glaring even worse now. But, he did shake his hand at least..
I grabbed the movie off of the counter top, shoving it in Hide's face. "See! I picked a good one this time!" Hide laughed, sitting on the couch. I followed him, sitting next to him. Akita followed, sitting next to me. "What are we watching.." Akita mumbled. I smiled, giggling. "Well.. It's a romantic comedy! This guy meets a girl, and they fall in love and they think everything is going alright, but actually, they are failing miserably!" I nudged his arm. He groaned, shaking his head. He then also leaned back in the couch, placing his hands behind his head. I arose from the couch, walking up to the DVD compartment. I hit the eject button, revealing the disc holder. Then, I pressed the close button. The holder went back inside the DVD player, and the TV screen turned to the movie. I shook with glee, jumping up and down through my skin. I hit the play button on the remote, smiling as the title screen went by.
"Akita, can you make popcorn?" I asked questionably as my stomach churned for a buttery treat. Hide's face widened, and he agreed with me. Akita slowly risen from the couch, rubbing his neck, and headed to the kitchen. "If I don't have any, eat something else. I'm not your personal kitchen maid, idiot.." He complained. I heard cabinets open and close, drawers slam shut, and a wrapper crumble. "Here, I have one left, you're lucky." Me and Hide looked at each other, joyfully smiling. Akita put the popcorn bag in the microwave, and pressed the button to start it. I paused the movie, and Hide and I talked as we waited.
"So, you lost your keycard?" He smirked. I frowned, scolding him. "It wasn't my fault.. It probably fell out!" The popping of the kernels was heard in the background. Pop. Pop. Pop.
"How long are you staying here?" He questioned as he turned his head to Akita. I looked down, thinking. "Well... I guess until the apartment landlords give me another.. I called them a few days ago, and they said that I have to pay a fine.. And until I pay it, I can't order a new one.. Plus, they said even if I do order a new one, it will take a few weeks to a month to arrive because they have to custom make them for each room." He nodded, staying silent.
