"So, you want to be friends with me?" I smirked as I spoke. Quite absurd to think about. However, Hide simply just nodded his head, practically begging for my friendship. After a few seconds of silence, I answered his begs with a "sure" in very small amount of emotion..
His eyes became overjoyed with excitement. As if everything he had ever wished for had just became true within a mere second of being hoped for. With another faint expression shown, I gave him a half-hug back. Was not that hard to make a friend in my opinion.
As I let go from the half-hearted embracement, Hide spoke. "How long have we been in here?" I looked at the clock on my wall. Quite a lot of time has passed by.. In fact.. "About an hour..?" I responded. "Why do you ask?"
"It's just odd that Mira didn't come to see what was wrong.. Don't you think? She's usually the curious one out of us," he said. I nodded, motioning him to the door. As I glanced out at the couch and living room, she was no where to be seen. "Did you lock the doors?" Hide asked. I responded with a yes, and hastily moved out into the kitchen. She was not there. She was neither in the living room, or my room. She was gone.
"Did you hear any doors open?" I questioned, peering around for any sign of a leave. "No, I didn't," said Hide. While looking over at the couch, I noticed glass in the window cut out in a perfect circled shape. The cut out piece was also on the ground next to the window. Someone broke in and took her. They didn't even make a sound. Worse yet, I have no idea WHO took her and why, but it was filling me with anger. I needed to find her. I do not know why I am so attached to her; but for whatever reason, it is upsetting me that she is gone. My heart started to pump fast, my blood rushing all throughout my entire body. I felt my eyes change. It hurt in my one eye. The left eye. It felt worse than the pain of a thousand needles being shot through me. I knew what was happening.
The bloodline has finally awakened.
My eyes, now different. Instead of being a normal ghoul's eyes, only one of mine were red. The other; my left, was surrounded in blue.
Without notifying Hide about one thing, I released my kagune, jumping out of the window. I dashed across the buildings closest, vertically jumping from edge to edge. Faster than a bird at full flight.
While hopping from building to building, I could hear him calling out to me. I ignored him, how very much hard it was. My whole mindset was focused on finding Mira. For whatever reason, I cared for her well being. Glancing around, I looked for any more signs of who could have taken her. It was simply all the same. I had absolutely no idea where to look. So, I decided to jump some more.
After a while, it was all worth nothing. I found nothing that could help me find her. No clues anywhere. It's almost as if the person wasn't even alive. Yet, it was simply impossible.
Dawn started to break through the horizon, the tiniest speck of the light from the sun shining through the navy blue sky. I sat; restless with myself. My head in my hands, my arms rested on my knees, I couldn't think of what to do. My entire mind was blank. Except for the thoughts that she could be dead. She could, in any case, be hanging from a wall right now with a whip to her bare skin. Scars being made.. Cuts sunk deeply into her torso.. Rope burn on her wrists.. No..
If this was the case..
In any situation if her abductor is sadistic..
This could be happening.. Just like what happened to me..
She may have nobody in the world to help her.
She may become corrupted..
She could...
..
Die..
Within this moment, tears fell from my face. I did not know why. I did not know why I cared about her so much. I don't even know why I should be looking for her.. A human? With the ugly monster I am.. She stuck with me acting as if I was her closest friend. She trusted me.. So did Hide.. Yet I left both of them go.. And I caused all of this grief. If it was not for her meeting me; none of this would have happened..
