I was about halfway home by now. That brat sure as hell gave me a rush. Heck, I actually had fun taunting her. The pathway to my apartment was recently getting re-modeled, so I am forced to use back alley ways. I hate those alleys. Cannibalism and doves everywhere. I swear, one time I saw the Gourmet screaming "Kaneki Kun" for about an hour! Perverted gay man.. Scares me half to death. My feet drag across the pavement as I walk, my black hair swishing over my eyes. To my left, a ghoul, seemingly ravenously devouring another human. Disgusting fool... I walked past. I took a deep breath, and quickly regret it. Karma is a bitch.. The air was so foul that I nearly threw up. I did gag, though. One foot after the other, I walked. At last, after walking through the alley, I see some kind of street lamp. Which meant I was on a main road again, thank god.
I walked out and began to cross the street. However, I was stopped by a dove. Fuck, just my luck... I thought to myself. "You cannot pass, you ghoulish freak." The CCG agent insisted. I snickered, and taunted him, tapping my foot on the ground. Perhaps I can kill this miserable asshole...
"Oh? And, is the great and all powerful CCG agent going to stop me if I try?" He looked at me, with a stern glare. To be honest, it was the first time a CCG agent has glared at me that way...
The agent stood firmly, with his eyes focused on me and my every move. They were seeping into my soul. It.. actually scared me a little bit. I know the feeling of fear all too well. The feeling was truly melancholy. There was only one way to get out of this mess.
I stood under the flickering street light, keeping my bikaku in. I made sure my eyes stayed normal, as well. "You know, investigator.. Not all of us ghouls have the same murderous intentions. Not all of our kind kill for the hell of it." He snickered deeply. "Coming from a Binge Eater? You humor me." He continued. "You honestly believe that I can take your word on this?" I interrupted him, snarling back. "What is your name, Investigator?" He widened his eyes, glaring again. Then, he sighed. "That is not important, Freak." I noticed he was less tense. "You don't need to know.." I looked down. I wanted to know his name. I wanted to be able to make him see what I see. I wanted to address him when we speak. He was obviously different from the other investigators, considering he didn't immediately slice my limbs off. "I have the right to know. We all do. I have just the same rights as humans. Sure. My kind brought us to hell. But, That doesn't allow you to single out one person for all the destruction in the world. I would like to know your name, now please do not make me kill you, investigator." I told him in a stern and clear tone. He groaned, clearly growing annoyed. He walked closer to me. "And, how am I supposed to know this isn't all an act?" I chuckled. "Why in the hell would I act out what you know is right, Investigator? Tch, I am bored of this. I need to go home, so please get out of my sight before you are my late night snack." I was aggravated, I had a long day ahead of me tomorrow.
"You aren't worth my time, anyway. Go." The investigator turned, walking opposite of me. Finally, I can continue my way home.
After another few blocks, I arrived at my doorstep. A red bricked studio style apartment, with red painted walls, and black oak flooring. Only 2,100 yen a month.. Great deal. I stuck my hand in my back pocket, reaching for my keycard. Pulling it out, I slid it through my padlock, unlocking my door. All of the house lights were off, considering I did shut them off before I left. I walked inwards, slamming my door shut. Then, I flipped the light switch, turning the lights on. It was now extremely bright, I squinted my eyes a little bit. I yawned, once again tired from the day. That baka girl and dumbass dove took about 72 minutes of energy from me. I glanced at the clock on my wall, noticing the time. It was 12:29 a.m. An hour later than when I usually go to bed. I was deathly tired, yawning about every few seconds. It was really late. So, I decided to sleep on my couch instead of using up more energy on the trip to my bedroom. I lay, trying to get cozy. I shifted, and turned, and rolled around. Until finally, I was able to be comfortable. The leather cushions were hard, pricking at all my nerves. Slowly, I fell asleep.
I awoke back into my dream. It was dark again, and cold. Blackness surrounded every inch of me. It was quiet, too quiet. I looked at my arms, noticing how cut and bruised they were. God, it hurt like hell bit me in the ass. I heard footsteps. Loud footsteps. One thump... And then another.. Thump. They grew closer. Closer. Closer. Even closer. A hell-ish being appeared in front of me. It was a white-haired ghoul. The Eyepatch. Beaming through the quiet, I heard Yamori. "Kill him, Insidious." I felt something rush through me. I was now standing up. I wasn't trying to stand up.. So why am I standing up?! I then released my kagune, it being so without my will. I couldn't control myself at all. I was brainwashed completely. Suddenly, My friend was impaled by my doing. Dead as a doornail. Fell to the ground, dead. "Great job, Insidious!" His words pierced my ears. I just killed my brother, without my own will. Is.. it real?
