I awoke to the sunlight coming in from my window. The first thing I saw was Sam's sleeping face. I smiled at his peaceful state and traced my finger along his arm. Then my finger glided over his facial features. His nose, cheekbones, lips... Suddenly his eyes opened groggily. He gave me a sleepy smile and wrapped his arms around me, burying his face in my hair. "G'morning" he mumbled. I giggled and played with his hair.

I wanted to stay like that forever. But Sam and I both had work. We got up and got dressed. Then he went out the window while I walked out the front door. On my way out, I saw Bill's snoring figure on his bed at the end of the hallway. I quickly closed the door behind me and joined Sam at the sidewalk to walk to work together.

Once we made it to the park I kissed him on the cheek and made my way to the Diner where I worked. I put my apron on and served coffee and breakfast until my lunch break. During my lunch break I usually read but today I decided to make a sandwich for Sam, Beckett, and me. As I was packing up our sandwiches to go Steve, Our cook, watched me. "You going out somewhere?" He asked. "Yeah. I meeting someone for lunch." I answered and saw his smile falter.

"Oh, with who?"

"My boyfriend Sam."

"How long have you guys been dating?"

"A while." I said getting uncomfortable with all the questions. He was no longer smiling and grimaced at the pancakes he was cooking in front of him. "Oh. I guess have fun then." he said in a tight voice. I left in a hurry to try and evade the awkwardness surrounding us.

Once I made it to the park I spotted Sam and couldn't help but smile. He was reciting Sonnet 18. "-But thy eternal summer shall not fade, Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st, Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade." I took a minute to look around the crowd and sure enough, I saw Beckett with his hand in a lady's purse. "-So long lives this, and this gives life to thee." He finished and the crowd erupted in applause. Once the audience dispersed, I met Sam and Beckett in the center and gave Sam a hug.

"That was amazing Sam!I loved it." I said and him a kiss on the cheek. "Man, if I knew ladies found it sexy when they quoted poetry I'd be the one doing it." He said and Sam playfully punched him on the shoulder. "Yeah right. You think it's easy to memorize full poems and entire play scene's?" Sam said and Beckett shook his head sighing. "Alright then I didn't bring you lunch for nothing. Eat up." I stated and handed out the sandwiches. "Mmmmm. These sandwiches are soooo good. Made with love I presume?" Beckett said with his mouth full of sandwich. "Yes, but not for you." Said Sam and Beckett clutched his heart like it actually hurt him. "Ouch Sam." Beckett said and finished off his sandwich. For the rest of my lunch break we talked and goofed off. But then we had to return to work so I said goodbye and made my way back to the restaurant.

After work I went home and once Bill finally left Sam came over. We were sitting on my bed just talking when Sam asked me to play a song. "No." I whined like a little kid. "Please! I love the sound of your voice." He pleaded. "You hear my voice all the time. We talk every day." I argued. "Yeah but I also like the way it sounds when your singing. C'mon Y/N. Just one song." He persuaded and I finally caved.

I pulled out my guitar and began plucking the cords. I let my voice flow out of my mouth and into the air in a nice melody as the guitar created a delicate music. "It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside. It's not one of those you can easily hide..." I continued singing in a soft tone but my voice gradually got more passionate and strong. "And you can tell everybody this is your song. It may be quite simple, but now that it's done. I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words. How wonderful life is while you're in the world." I sang loud and in a gentle voice I sang the outro. I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words..." I paused for dramatic effect. "How wonderful life is while you're in the world." I finished.

Sam and I both leaned in and just as we were about to kiss, The doorbell rang. I groaned and stood up to answer the door. I opened to see Steve standing there looking nervous. "Steve? What are you doing here?" I asked. "I just... came to see you." He said. There was an awkward silence. "Look Y/N I uhhh... Like you. Like I like you like you. And I really hope that we can be more than friends. And I know you have a boyfriend but please consider me." He said and looked at me with pleading eyes.

I was shocked. Of course I cared about Steve. But I didn't like him like that. He was a nice coworker but nothing more. "I'm sorry Steve but I just don't think of you that way. And I have a boyfriend. I hope we can still be friends." I said and watched his face go sad. Before I knew it Steve had me pinned against the side of my house, his lips pressed against mine. For a second I was frozen, unable to move or do anything. Then I came to my senses and tried to push him off of me but to no success. His kissing was slobbery and he pushed his tongue into my mouth. I didn't like any of it.

"What the hell is going on out here?!?!" Said a voice behind me. Suddenly Steve was thrown off of me and lying on my front lawn. Sam was on top of him, punching him mercilessly. I ran over to Sam and grabbed his arm before he brought it down onto Steve's face again. "Sam! That's enough!" I screamed. Sam stopped and looked up at me.

His he slowly got off of Steve and walked past me. "Sam wait!" I yelled after him but to no avail. I grabbed his arm and he stopped and looked at me. His face was filled with anger and fury but also sadness behind his eyes. "Sam listen. Steve came over and told me he had a crush on me but I told him no I had a boyfriend. Then HE kissed me. I didn't kiss him. I love you."I tried to explain. Sam sighed and rubbed his temple. "I understand Y/N. And I really want to forgive you but... I just can't. Not right now. I need time to figure things out. Seeing you with him really hurt me." He said and started walking away. "But it wasn't my fault. Sam please!" I cried after him but he was already gone.

I walked back to my house with tears running down my face. Why did this have to happen? Why couldn't Sam forgive me? But I knew why he couldn't. I would feel the same way if I caught Sam with another girl. So I would just have to wait. But the longer Sam angry at me, away from me, the more my heart broke. And nobody but him would be able to fix it.                                                               -------------------------------------------------------------
