The unopened email stared back at her viciously.

It was mid-afternoon when Mithrah's phone pinged alerting her of a new email. When she glanced at the sender, she realised it was from a company she applied to work at. The one she wanted to work at the most. Mithrah was never one to delay reading such an important email but for some reason, her stammering heart held her back from opening it.

With her phone in her hand, she made her way down the grand staircase. Mithrah's mind was in a daze and she hadn't even opened her email yet. Her steps were unusually slow and reluctant, showing the weight of her phone in her hand.

She knew she had to open it soon.

As she stepped onto the landing her eyes immediately caught sight of Prabhas. He was laughing out loud with Rana trapped in a headlock in his arms. The two grown men appeared as children as they play fight with huge grins on their faces.

A small smile grew on her face as she watched them. As if sensing her presence Prabhas looked in her direction. Noticing her standing there, his back straightened a little with Rana still locked in under his arm.

There was a change in his expression.

He slowly stopped laughing before a similar smile to Mithrah's appeared on his face. It was small but it was all she needed. When he cocked his brows as if to question if she's okay, she nodded and walked towards the nearby balcony.

The barely there breeze cooled her heated skin as she brought her phone to the front and opened the email. Her eyes skimmed over the message as she held her breath. She got the job. She began to laugh but it faltered as she saw the city she was located to.

Hyderabad.

The magazine had two locations and the one she was given was far from home and from Chennai, meaning none of her family members were going to be close by. A crestfallen expression settled on her face as she locked her phone and looked at the land visible from that balcony. This meant she would only be back for holidays and even then it wouldn't be a car ride away. That was only for her village too. She couldn't begin to imagine how often she would see Rana or Thara.

Then, Prabhas' smile flashed in her mind.

She groaned as she didn't even know where he was assigned to. She decided she was going to put her pride aside and ask him when she sees him again. But then 'ignorance is bliss' went through her mind, making her second guess her decision. Mithrah whined and put her hands on her face, annoyed at how she contradicted herself.

She heard a laugh from behind. His laugh. She slowly lowered her hands and turned around with a glare to see his amused expression just aching to annoy her. With one hand on her hip, she cocked her head at him. "What are you laughing at?"

Prabhas shook his head with a childish smile but he looked over her face, almost as if he knew she was distraught. "Are you okay?" He asked, concern visible in his eyes as Mithrah looked away.

"I'm fine." She replied, trying to brush it off. She hadn't even decided if she was going to take this offer so she didn't think it was worth telling him. But more than that, she was afraid to say it out loud as if it made the impending separation more real.

She had turned back around to look at the green land, the view having a calming effect on her, unlike Prabhas' eyes which left her heart stammering. He went and stood beside her, staring out into the distance.
