Within an hour, a plan was formed on how the building was going to be raided and how it will not affect the publication of Vision's first crime article. After informing Jennifer of the decision, Mithrah stood in a daze watching Prabhas take control of the situation. She found herself admiring the way he radiated with authority whilst he skilfully formulated their next steps. Everyone in the room seemed to wait with bated breath, anticipating his next words as if it would provide the answers to their prayers. She adored how he considered all the options they had, thought of all that could go wrong and calculated how they could possibly avoid such obstacles.
All the while he managed to find moments to steal glances at her. Whether it be a subtle wink or a fleeting smirk he reminded Mithrah her quiet presence was not forgotten by him. Even when the whole station's attention was on him, his eyes still managed to seek her out. Mithrah managed to appear unbothered but she knew and Prabhas knew.
It would only be mere hours before they would be in each other's embrace.
"From Vision's side, the decisions are all yours to make," Thenesh told them as they walked towards the entrance to leave. Mithrah kept glancing back, wondering if Prabhas was going to come and see her out but he remained in the room along with the majority of the staff. With a pout, she followed Meera and her Duraisingam out before the Inspector took his leave with a lingering goodbye.
Once they neared Meera's pink scooter, Mithrah nudged her with a smirk. "Seems like Duraisingam is ready to become the father of your children." She joked as they looked back, seeing Thenesh trip over his own feet as he glanced back at them.
Meera smirked as she edged closer to her. "Kids are expensive right now and I can't afford to look after them. Maybe Duraisingam and I can practise the process of him becoming the father..." She trailed of suggestively.
'Chee," Mithrah said with a laugh as she playfully scrunched up her face.
Meera pinched her waist causing her to squeal and jump. "What do you mean chee? Do you think I didn't notice all that between you and the DSP? Brother's friend huh? If that's how you look at all your brother's friends, he must be the most popular man in India."
Mithrah bit her tongue as she tried not to show her emotions on her face. "I don't know what you mean." She told her, feigning an innocent look. "I've probably said like two words to him before today."
"Words do not have to be spoken for deeds to be done, sister," Meera told her with a knowing look as Mithrah's thoughts fluttered with those quiet moments she spent alone with Prabhas, away from the rest of the world. Only when Meera poked her reddened cheek did she snap out of her daydreams and playfully roll her eyes.
"Working for a magazine has you creating stories that aren't there," She lied even though she could tell from the smirk on Meera's face she believed none of her words. "I'm going to go home now anyway and maybe start to work on the article."
"Let me drop you off," Meera told her, stroking the seat on her scooter seductively. "I will give you the best ride of your life." She added with a wink.
"No thanks," Mithrah said with a snort. "I would rather walk under the sun for hours than get behind you on that bike. Knowing you, you would drive faster on the speed bumps you thief." She played along with her eyes narrowing in accusation.
Meera laughed as she swiftly got onto her scooter. "How'd you guess my plan?"
"All details. I know." She replied comically with a movie dialogue before stepping out of the iron gates. She glanced back at the station one more time to catch a glimpse of Prabhas but with a frown, she accepted he was still inside. Adjusting her bag on her shoulder she began to walk towards her apartment with a glare on her face. 'Would it have hurt him to come and say bye?' she wondered as she held an expression of disappointment. She had intentionally announced that she and Meera were going to leave out loud. Twice. The first time he glanced up at her with a frown but looked back down at the document that was in his hand. The second time she could have sworn his lips twitched into a smile but that was all she got.
