"I am so glad I have spent the first twelve hours of my birthday crying and sleeping on a couch with two other people," Savannah muttered as she walked into the kitchen stretching her limbs.
"I'm sorry," Alexis whispered.
"No, baby, it isn't your fault. We still have a whole day to make it better!"
"I don't think I can hang with your guys tonight knowing he is still in there. I'm going to go down to the police station and try to figure out what is going to happen."
There was no point in arguing with her, it was useless. She was right. But, I wasn't going to spend my best friend's birthday moping around because some idiot decided to do cocaine and get arrested. Alexis rose from the table and grabbed her stuff to leave. "Call me if you need anything, I love you," I said, giving her a hug goodbye.
"I will, thank you, guys."
She left and we all sighed. "What are our plans today?" Matt asked, taking a bite of a sandwich he had just made.
"I want to be lowkey tonight, no partying. Maybe pool, dinner, and a show?" Savannah suggested.
"Anything for the birthday girl," Matt responded and kissed her on the lips.
I gagged, "gross!" I shielded my eyes from watching my twin brother make out with my best friend.
Matt looked up at me and rolled his eyes, "Oh but it's okay if I watch my best friend and sister make out with each other?"
"Hey, that's different!" I defended.
"How?"
"Um, I don't know. It just is!" I stuck my tongue out at him. Garrett laughed beside me.
"Well, do you guys want to go to the pool now?" Savannah asks.
"Sure, go get changed and meet us back here in five?" Garrett answers.
They nod and leave, leaving Garrett and me alone for the first time in what feels like forever.
I walk over to my suitcase and pull out a plain black bikini to swim in. This trip has been mentally and physically exhausting. I honestly can't wait for it to end. We only have three more days, I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can. I sat down on the bed after I finished getting ready.
"And what is on your mind this morning?" Garrett asks as he sprawls out onto the bed.
"I just-" I pause for a moment, "I just feel like I can't have fun while Alexis is out crying because her boyfriend is in jail. I feel like I should be there for her."
"Baby, she said for you to stay here. All you will be doing is sitting there alone while she talks to the police."
"Yeah, but I would be there for her," I muttered.
He comes up beside me and wraps his arms around me, "How about we go to the pool and relax for a while, then I will take you up there later?" I nodded in agreement and kissed him on the lips.
There was eventually a knock at the door so we both got up and grabbed our towels to head out. "Hey, bitches, what's up?" Matt screams as I open the door. I roll my eyes and Garrett and I walk out, closing the door behind us.
"I think I'm going to tan for a while," I say as I lay my towel out on a pool chair. The pool area was insane, there were waterslides and a huge infinity pool. This wasn't a hotel that had a lot of children, so it was ironic that they had all of this here.
I peeled my clothes off to reveal my bikini, resulting in a cat-call whistle coming from behind me. My middle finger immediately flew up, flicking off whoever was behind me, knowing it was my boyfriend anyway.
