It was getting late after I had finished unpacking, so I finally climbed into my fresh-smelling sheets. I had gotten to watch the sunset through my windows earlier. It was a perfect view. I could get used to this.

I was exhausted, I hadn't slept in a bed for over twenty-four hours. I think my body was going to explode if I didn't go to sleep soon. Sadly, it was only nine o'clock, so it was way too early to sleep.

I had to get used to the time change at some point. I decided to scroll through my social network feed; nothing going on besides the usual Friday night festivities in Atlanta. Just the same people posting on Instagram with the same group of friends at the same club they always go to. I groan and go through my text messages to see if I haven't replied to anyone.

Sadly, there wasn't any. Not even my closest friends said, "We'll miss you!" Or "Come back soon!" I mean, I understand my leaving was very abrupt and sudden, but come on nothing? I sent out a couple of texts to my group of friends saying I was moving, and I got no response. It kind of hurt if I was going, to be honest. I wasn't close with them anyway. I feel like we all used each other when we wanted something.

I finally dozed off around eleven, until I heard my door creak open, but I didn't worry about it. It was probably just Matt seeing if I was asleep and telling me goodnight. I shook out the thoughts immediately of it being anyone else because no one else was even home. I hadn't realized it got so late so quickly. I was planning on going to sleep way earlier than that.

I woke up as soon as the sun rose; it was blinding. I turned away from the windows only to feel something blocking my way. It was a person. My eyes shot open in horror when I realized it wasn't Matt.

It was a stranger.

I screamed and jumped out of my bed, looking down to see if I was still clothed; which I was. I was wearing a huge sweatshirt and no pants which was not the typical way I would like to meet a man.

He grumbled, and turned away from me, "Five more minutes babe." He didn't say anything else and fell back asleep. I stood with my back against the wall trying to calm my breathing as I heard footsteps pounding up the stairs.

"Jess, are you okay?" Matt creaked my door open, staring through the cracked door.

He opened the door wider and held in his hand a knife. "Matt, why is there a man in my bed?" I whisper-shouted, feeling a mixture of amusement and anger.

"What do you mean?" He asks confused, oblivious to the giant lump in my sheets.

I groaned, "Matt, listen! Some random person is literally in my bed! Get it out!" He slowly pulled the covers from over his head and started bursting out laughing.

"Matt, what's so funny?" I folded my arms across my chest getting pissed off every second.

"Oh nothing, this is just the other person who lives in my house," I must have looked like I grew a second head because then he added, "You know, Garrett?"

"What?" I ask out loud, not looking for an answer. "One, a heads up that another person is living in this house would be nice, and two, get him the hell out of my bed."

"Oh right, I forgot to tell you." He scratched the back of his neck. "He sometimes can't find his room when he's drunk off his ass, so he goes wherever." He dragged Garrett out of the bed as he groaned about getting up. Guys have the sexiest morning voices I swear. I couldn't help but notice him. He was pretty cute, he had blonde hair that I felt the urge to run my hands through.

"Love you, my dear sister," Matt said as he started to exit my room.

"I can't even right now," I pinch the bridge of my nose, "I deserve my present now." I'm still curious as to what the present even was. Did he even have one?
