A New Day

I wake up with the sun brightly shining through the sheer curtains. I smile happily as I remember helping Adam last night. My hand fumbling in his jean pocket searching for his key card. My face blushing as I remembered him pulling me on top of him and the sweet, enticing kiss we shared. I pulled the sheets over my head in awe and embarrassment at what we could have done, but Adam being the gentleman that he is decided to wait until the time was right. My heart quicken at the thought of waking up beside him every morning.

The grin on my face suddenly turns into a frown. How would we be together if he lives in Canada and I live in Indiana? I uncover myself as I climb out of bed. If I moved I would have to leave Lisa and Batman behind. Would Adam move? I wondered as brushed my teeth and got dressed.

I stared at myself in the mirror wondering how someone like me could have possibly attract someone like Adam Gontier. His world is so much different from mine. His life is the spotlight while mine is plain and simple. He lives the life of a rock star while I'm shy and quiet. Megan would be a better fit. She loves the limelight. Being the center of attention. That was my worst fear but what matters most is how I feel about Adam. The way he makes me laugh, cares for me, and how with just one look causes my heart to fly. I've never felt this way about anyone. I realize it was love at first sight. The instant I saw him I had an instant connection. Mind, body, and soul. Like my heart knew something I didn't quite understand. Something I was now starting to understand.

I smiled at my reflection and went to wake up Lisa. She was still sleeping with the blanket barely on her and the rest falling off the bed.

"Lisa wake up. We have to be ready by 10:00 so we can make it to the festival. Lisa." I said gently pushing her to help her wake up. She grumbles as she starts to open her eyes.

"Let me sleep a couple more minutes." She said as her eyes close again.

"No you don't. We have to make sure we pack all our stuff and get dressed for the concert. We also have to eat breakfast. Get up lazy butt." She narrowed her eyes at me as an attempt to threaten me but then gave in to laughter.

"Ok. I'm awake now. Let me get ready." She said pushing the rest of the blanket to the floor and getting out of bed. Her hair was a tangled mess as she stumbled into the restroom to get dressed. While Lisa got ready I started putting my belongings in my suitcase and double checking to make sure I had everything. A loud knock at the door pulled me away from my task as I went to open the door. Batman stood in front of me. Freshly showered and dressed. A huge smiled played against his lips. I returned his smile.

"Well someone is extremely happy. I wonder if it has anything to do with a rock goddess?" I didn't think his smile could get any bigger but it did.

"Renee you have no idea. I wanted to make sure you and Lisa were ok. Matt or Adam didn't pressure you two into anything did they?" I stared at him in disbelief.

"You're asking about Matt and Adam when you're the one who spent the night with Lzzy and for your information, me and Lisa are grown adults and can take care of ourselves." I said heatedly pointing my finger at him.

Batman shook his head as he closed the door behind him. "I took her to her hotel room. She was all over me but then passed out. I only stayed with her to make sure she was ok. I slept on the floor not in her bed." Batman said as he went to sit on the bed.

"Such a gentleman. Well you'll be happy to know that Adam and Matt didn't pressure us and we all slept in our own beds." Batman seemed relieved. Lisa walked out of the restroom.

"Hi Batman. Today is Renee's birthday." He looks up at me. "Why didn't you tell me?" He stands to give me a hug. "Happy Birthday. "

"Thanks." I said feeling grateful for my two closet friends.

"Let's go eat breakfast. I'm starving." Batmans says as he opens the door for us to leave.

"I'll meet you there I'm going to check on Adam. He had a lot to drink last night." Batman and Lisa get into the elevator letting me know they'll meet me there while I walk to Adam's room.

I knock on the door waiting for him to answer. By the third knock I'm starting to worry but I hear the door turn and Adam smiles down at me. His hair wet from his shower. He lets me in and closes the door behind me.

"How are you feeling? Wasn't sure if you would have a nasty hangover." I asked him while he puts his shoes on. He has everything packed and ready.

"I'm used to it. Last night is a little blurry but since I didn't wake up with you beside me is it safe to say that I was on my best behavior last night?" He says it as if he's asking me. I sit on his lap and put my arm around him as I lay head on his shoulder.

"You needed a little bit of help getting your key out but you were a perfect gentleman. We do need to see where our relationship is going. We have a lot to figure out. First with Megan then how we will see each other." I lift my head to look into his eyes. Sky blue eyes staring back at me as if he's seeing me on a deeper level. My heart starts to beat rapidly. How just a look from him makes me nervous and excited.

"I'll talk to Megan and then we'll figure out what we'll do to make our relationship work." He gives me a caressing kiss that's full of promises of our future ahead.

"Let's eat breakfast. I'm starving." He gives me one last kiss as we get up to walk to the elevator.
