John's POV

I looked over at Alex's bed to find him gone the next morning. I sighed. He had morning classes that day thanks to his double major. It was too bad. I flopped back in bed and stared at the ceiling. Damn my overly gay feelings I thought bitterly. I had known I was gay ever since I was five. I just knew that I didn't like girls the way I liked boys. And goddamnit this boy made me want to tear my hair out and sing at the same time. Alex was just perfect. He had a wicked sense of humor and talking to him just felt so real. Not to mention he was easy on the eyes. What am I doing I cringed as I thrashed in bed. I had known him for what less than 24 hours? And I was already head over heels in love with this man. Shut up John, he's probably straight I told myself. However, thoughts of Alexander lingered in my mind as I made myself breakfast. Luckily, I didn't have any classes today, so I settled myself in for a morning of TV and Netflix. It was around 1 when Alex suddenly burst through the door.
I looked up at him from the couch and grinned. "So, how was your very first day of college?", I asked.
He put down his bag and rushed over to the couch next to me. "College is amazing!", he replied excitedly. "I love it here!"
"Good for you!", I said smiling. "Listen, I'm going to go out soon to meet some friends I know. I was hoping you could come with? I'll introduce you and everything.", I inquired as I looked over at him hopefully. He smiled a shy smile. I felt my heart jump like it did yesterday.
"I'd love to go John. Just let me freshen up!", he said as he got up.
"Great!", I exclaimed. I stretched on the couch lazily.

Alexander's POV

I was nervous. I wasn't even sure why. I was just going to meet his friends, it wasn't that big of a deal. Still, I couldn't understand why my hands were shaking as I changed clothes. John was one of the most kindest people I've ever met. He seemed to genuinely care about everyone. I didn't want to mess things up with his friends. John and I headed outside into the warm weather. After wandering around the quad we eventually ended up at a small coffee shop. We walked in and John led me to the very back where he sat next to two individuals.
"Guys, this is my new roommate, Alex.", John gestured to me.
One of them had long curly hair tied up behind his head. He was rather tall and had handsome features with skin the color of toffee. "Hello it is nice to meet you!", he said while vigorously shaking my hand. "My name is Marie‑Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier de La Fayette. But you may just call me Lafayette.", he announced in a heavily accented voice.
"It's nice to meet you Lafayette.", I smiled. I turned to the other man. He had short curly hair and had a bandanna tied around his head. He was built up and had huge muscles. Despite his tough appearance he smiled at me and also grasped my hand.
"What's up dude? My name is Hercules Mulligan, it's a pleasure to meet you man!" He had a deep voice.
"It's awesome to meet you too. My name is Alexander Hamilton. But you guys can call me Alex.", I finished. We sat down and had a conversation with his friends. I found out that Lafayette was from France originally, but moved here because he liked America better.
"New York City is how you say....the busiest place on earth! I enjoy your American customs such as the hailing of the taxi.", he spoke animatedly while waving his hands. Mulligan turned out to be majoring in Fashion.
"I really enjoy creating art that one can wear.", he explains passionately. "Fashion is just my one true calling."
I ended up having a great time. John's friends were just about as wonderful as John himself. Every now and then, I sneaked a look at John. He was still so goddamn beautiful, smiling and laughing with his freckles bouncing on his face as he spoke.

John's POV

I watched Alex's retreating back as he left for the bathroom. I felt Lafayette nudge me.
"So, how you say, what is the deal with 'zis Alexander?", he asked grinning.
"Yeah you guys were sneaking looks at each other the entire time!", Hercules exclaimed.
"Guys shhhhhh! I don't want him to hear!", I waved frantically.
"Even so, you must tell us what is up.", Lafayette commanded.
"I think I like him.", I felt my cheeks go red. I buried my face in my hands.
"Well that much was obvious!", Hercules chuckled.
"Oui, however, I do believe this Alex likes you back yes? He could not keep his eyes off of you!", Lafayette interjected. "You must confess your feelings to him!"
"Guys, I don't know. I don't want to make things awkward between us.", I said as I fidgeted with my hands.
"Nonsense! I am sure he likes you back!", said Lafayette.
"Yeah come on man! You might as well give it a shot!", added Hercules.
Before I could say anything, Alex was back smiling.
"Well guys, it was nice to catch up, but Alex and I should get going.", I announced. We said our goodbyes and left for home.
