Lance POV:
I wish Keith was still here so we could form Voltron because Allura is knocked out from using too much Altean magic. God dammit Keith! Why did you have to go off on your own when we need you here the most? Now we're stuck! Coran is trying his best to keep the castle together, Shiro is trying to wake up Allura, Pidge and Matt is working out the tech stuff while Hunk does what he does best which is man the kitchen trying to see if he can whip something up to wake up Allura, and I'm just here. There's nothing I can do and I hate it. I hate that you left and most of all I hate how useless I am and it's because I'm the sixth paladin. I'm not needed...
I go to my room unnoticed like always and slumped into my bed staring into the ceiling. My trans-communicator on my wall flashes and Lotor's voice comes booming through the screen and judging from the echo, it's playing all over the castle.
"Ahem due to your princess being drained and that you're surrounded, obviously Voltron is in no shape to fight. I'm giving you the chance. Surrender your lions to me now and I will consider sparing your lives. You have 30 ticks to make your decision."
The castle fell silent once the transmission ended. I felt sick to my stomach that I might die soon so I decided to take a walk. As I walked past Matt's room, I overheard Pidge crying to Matt. I clenched my fist knowing that I might die wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact my friends have to die with me. Running back to my room, I've decided to make a bold move: I'm going to contact Lotor.
I set up a private line and reached out to Lotor on the Transcommunicator.
"Why isn't it little blue?" He greeted me. "I-I..." filled with fear I can barely utter the words that I wanted to say. "What's wrong? Lion gotcha tongue?" He said playfully, clearly trying to mess with my emotions. "I wish to make a deal with you and this...this is on my own accord." I said remembering pidge crying from earlier....I finally felt defeated. "Ah, and what is it do you have in mind little blue?" "You know as well as I do we as a team won't surrender but, I can't just stand by and do nothing. So I will give you my life and my lion if you spare the rest of my team." At this point my hands are trembling with fear, hoping that he takes it for everyone's sake. "Hm, I have a better idea. You give me your lion as you become my slave and I will spare your team including your former red paladin. But if you refuse or even try to run away, their deaths will be on your hands." He said mischievously licking his lips as his purple eyes peers deep into my soul setting it a blaze. Trembling with fear I thought to myself, "What does he mean 'as a slave'" "....I accept" He laughs at my defeat and embellish in his victory as I look down at my now bloody hands from clenching my fist too hard to the point my nails dug into my skin.
Bringing nothing with me but, a group photo of all of us with the lions; I rush over to the transfer tube to head to over to Blue. Resting my hand on Blue's big paw, a tear slowly rolls down my cheek and landing on her paw. "I'm sorry Blue but, at least this way I won't be worthless. I'll save everyone even if it means I can't be there" I sobbed. Wiping my tears away, I climb in to Blue and went out through the hatch. Almost immediately Pidge, Hunk, Coran, and Shiro comes through the coms all screaming and yelling at once. "Lance, get back in here it's too dangerous" Coran said. "You're going to get yourself killed!" Pidge screamed. "Lance we need to come up with a plan first" Shiro said. "Buddy, don't do this." Hunk said clearly holding back tears. "I'm sorry everyone but, I can't just stand back and do nothing. This is all I can do for the team. We made a great team guys." I said to my team before I turned off the comms.
I look towards the castle one last time then started going towards Lotor's ship. Blue was left in the ship's bunker as I was escorted to Lotor's quarters. "My, my, my isn't this a beautiful surpise" he said grinning ear to ear as he stood before me and stroked my chin. "I'm going to take my time with you."
