(Y/n) couldn't sleep when Yuri chose to, he went fast asleep without anything on his mind. She wishes that she could have that power from her brother but knows that magic isn't real. She could feel the tugging sensation on her heartstrings as if she has already became attached to the famous Russian skater. She remembers that she was lying on his bare chest, her cheeks flare up and didn't want to think about him. Trying to focus on sleeping, her mind keeps drifting to the male. Sitting up in her bed with only a t-shirt and panties, not caring if anyone sees her half-naked. The (f/c) sheets are all in a bundle from her tossing and turning and her pillow on the floor. Her (e/c) eyes dart towards the door, wondering if she should go and eat something from the kitchen or starve. Her stomach growls and she slightly groans, slipping out of the warm and comfort of her bed, her bare feet come in contact with the freezing cold board flooring.
"Why the hell is it so cold?" She whispers to herself as she walks over to her dresser and fishing out a pair of pajama pants, slipping them on. She looks over at her brother sleeping peacefully, probably having a dream about Victor, since seeing him in real life must have been a shock to everyone, especially him.
She trudges over to the bedroom door and slips on her slippers, then walks out of the room. The quietness and darkness of the house creeps her out since her shadow can appear out of nowhere and scare the living daylights out of her. Walking down the hallway and into the living room, she could see Victor sleeping on the floor with Makkachin curled up on the floor beside him. Her heart skips a beat at the sight and sees how perfect he is even when he's asleep. He must have had a long day yesterday, flying all the way from Russia to Japan just to see her brother to coach him.
"How can you be perfect, even when you're sleeping," (Y/n) asks herself, walking over to him silently, so he won't wake up, avoiding his dog, who is slightly running in their sleep. She notices his blanket is halfway on him and the other half is on the floor. She picks it up and puts it back on Victor, brushing his hair out of his face and admiring his beauty. She still can't believe that he is in her house, sleeping on the couch, dreaming with a small smile on his lips.
(Y/n) shakes her head, getting out of her daze about Victor, and heads outside on the balcony. Opening the sliding door quietly and leaving it cracked while she's outside. Although she's in her pajama's outside where the snow is sticking to the ground, she felt at peace. The sky is clear with the moon overhead and the stars twinkling, as if it's there for her. She just stares at the sky, feeling relaxed about everything.
"Trying to die from hypothermia?"
(Y/n) jumps from the sudden voice behind her, realizing that it's just the shadow and not Victor. Turning around she sees the shadow smiling, hoping that she would accept her fate already. She only glares at it, and turns her focus back on the sky. If she could erase all of the negativity within her and love who she is, then the shadow would disappear, right. But she will still doubt herself even if she's happy. The shadow moves from behind her to in front of her, trying to get her attention. As if it has a mission.
"You know that I'm stuck with you forever right? The medicine you're taking has no effect on me, and yet you're still trying to ignore me?" It says to her, trying to mess everything up. She only rolls her eyes, and sighs. There are times where the shadow gets to her and kills her inside, making her believe the stuff it says. But there are times where she's fed up with it, and wants it to stop talking because of how annoying it is. It's as if her life with the shadow can't get any worse.
"Can you please just shut up and let me enjoy the view. I know that you're stuck with me, but you don't have control over my body, so I make the decisions. Yes, there will be times where you will get to me, but I have to overcome that sometime. I know that you're trying to get in my head, but you will be gone one day. I just haven't found it yet." (Y/n) tells it flatly, wanting it to leave and let her be alone. She can hear it scoff, and waited for it to say something else just to tick her off even more. But it didn't, instead the shadow disappeared letting her win this round.
"You okay?"
This time she turns around and finds a sleepy Victor peeking outside with just a loose robe on, yawning. One of his shoulders showing with the way the robe is tied around him. She blushes at the sight and turns forward quickly, hoping he didn't catch her staring at him. Hearing the door open some more, and footsteps approaching her, Victor sits down at her right side, gazing at the sky.
"I'm fine. Why are you awake?" (Y/n) asks, not looking at him to keep her heart from pounding against her chest. He sits a bit too close to her and sighs, hoping that she would look at him. As she keeps her eyes glued to the sky, Victor lifts his hand up and lightly grabs ahold of her chin, making her face him. Her face becomes red from the sudden contact from him, and how confident he is in his actions. His ocean blue eyes stare deeply into her (e/c) eyes, as if trying to find something. He stays like that and admires her features up close, not moving at all and brushes her hair out of her face.
"I'm wondering how someone can be so cute without even trying," Victor states, retracting his hand and moving away from her, looking back up at the sky. (Y/n) sits there frozen in shock from what he just did, and what he said. If her cheeks could become more red, they would. She moves her head back forward and sits silently, wondering why he would even say that to her. She never thought of him to do something like that. And with full confidence. The way he said it sent butterflies around her stomach and he was so serious about it. She places her head in her hands, trying to calm down her heart.
"I'm... gonna go back inside," (Y/n) told Victor as she was getting up from her spot on the balcony. She didn't want to stay there for any longer or else she would have a panic attack from what he did. That moment will be burned into her memory for her whole life. It could have been something harmless to him but everything for her. Before she could walk back inside with all these questions running inside her head, something stopped her. Victor grabbed her hand and she stayed put.
"Don't let that shadow get to you. You're stronger than you think. If you need anyone, talk to me or your brother. I heard what you said to it, you can do this," Victor told her. Tears formed in her eyes, and she holds them back. Such kindness from a guy that she has been admiring and looks up to is game changing. It sparked something in her, a new reason to defeat the shadow and accept herself. It will take time for her to be someone she actually loves, but she'll do it.
"I'll be stronger. I'm sorry for earlier, you shouldn't have seen me like that. I was a mess. Thank you, I'll be better in the morning." (Y/n) says, letting Victor retract his arm, smiling from the impact he gave her. All she needs is a push, even if she doesn't need it.
She walks back inside with confidence, and is ready to conquer the next day. The shadow will be an obstacle for her, but she just has to be brave and shut it down. Walking back into her room, she sees Yuri spread out on his bed snoring like there's no tomorrow. She smiles at the sight and knows she has nothing to worry about. She slips her slippers off along with her pants and climbs back in bed, relaxing in the warmth. Staring at the ceiling she will try to be more confident outside of figure skating and talk her mind to people.
