After the horrible event, everything quickly went back to how they were before and truthfully, that absolutely frightened Kihyun.
Minhyuk was being held in a cell with no lightning or anything that connected him to the outside world whatsoever except for the ridiculously small part in the door which could only be opened from the outside. He only got bread and water to eat and that was a very small portion once a day.
The others had told him that it was okay and that Minhyuk had been in the same cell before. They tried to comfort him by saying that this incident wasn't the worst Minhyuk had caused, that he had been locked in there for three months straight and that he had been okay when he got out and they told him that it was just for a month-
Kihyun didn't understand. No, they didn't understand. They were acting as if everything was alright and completely normal but no matter how fucked up Kihyun's brain was, he knew. This wasn't normal. This prison wasn't a normal prison. If someone bit somebody's hand off and then was locked in a confined area for a month, people would be at least the smallest bit depressed. But this wasn't the case at all. The day after, nobody around him seemed different than any other day.
So he was silent as they ate.
''Kihyun,'' Hyunwoo said, ''This is a prison, not a playground. You have to get used to these things happening.''
''I never said this place is a playground, Hyunwoo,'' Kihyun said through gritted teeth. ''If Minhyuk is going to bite someone's hand off everyday, instead of a prison he should be at a hospital because he's fucking mental!''
''Don't be like that, now,'' Jooheon argued, frowning. ''You know exactly why we're here. At this prison, I mean. None of us are sane, Kihyun. You included.''
Kihyun slammed his fist on the table suddenly and glared at him furiously. ''I don't bite someone's hand off everyday, Jooheon! And no, I don't fucking know why we're here so could you care to explain please? Because if what you're saying is true, we should all be at a hospital, not here!''
''Enough,'' Hyunwoo hissed. ''You have no right to talk behind Minhyuk's back like that. We're here because this is no normal prison, Kihyun. We're here because we're crazy and did something crazy. You're crazy and poisoned four people because you felt like it. I'm here because I'm crazy, too. You can't deny it no matter how much you want to.''
Kihyun's mind was getting hazier every second. They didn't understand. They couldn't act like everything was okay.
''Hyunwoo has been here for seven years,'' Hyungwon said. ''Hoseok for four years, me for five, Jooheon came last year and Changkyun came here three days before you. Most of us know what's going on and how things work far better than you so I don't think you should try to reason with us. Like, at all.''
''This isn't a normal prison, like they said,'' he continued, '' You can't find people here who're in for an innocent and half accidental murder or robbing a grocery store, I'll tell you that. You either have to kill or rape or kidnap or whatever way too many people or do something a little more creative which we all did- you too. We know this isn't normal- better than you. But at some point, you have to just stop caring about it. Not that I care about anything.''
Kihyun didn't respond. Deep down he knew Hyungwon was right. He didn't know anything at all about ths place yet. But he couldn't give up his pride.
''You can't say anything, robot,'' he snapped and got up, knocking over a metal cup in the process. ''You can't feel anything in the first place, so why tell me how to feel?''
He heard Hyungwon's voice very faintly as he walked away in anger.
''We'll see.''
He paid no attention.
