∞ Nyx's POV ∞

It was already morning, and I realized that I had overslept. My head was throbbing with a ferocity that felt like a hurricane. I attempted to open my eyes, but the sunlight pouring in through the window was too bright. I couldn't recall what had happened the previous night. When I pulled myself up to sit, I realized that I was fully dressed, which was odd. I could smell Agenor's cigarette smoke, and when I looked over, I saw him sitting next to me with his leg half-folded, smoking calmly. He didn't acknowledge my presence, which made me uneasy. My head was still spinning, and my ears were ringing. I rested my head in my hands, with my elbows on my knees.

"Oh, God. What happened last night?" I asked.

He took a long drag of his cigarette, exhaled the smoke towards me, and said, "So, you don't remember anything? How convenient."

Convenient? What was he talking about?

"I remember being surrounded by your crew. You were there too. They kept pouring me drinks and singing some sort of 'brother pact' song. That must be why I have this terrible headache. I must have drunk too much," I explained.

I remained silent, unsure of his mood. I didn't want to know if he was angry with me right now. I rubbed my temples to ease the pain, and suddenly, a memory flashed in my mind. I saw myself standing on the deck, looking at the sea, but something was off. Oh no, I wasn't about to jump, I was...

"Oh please don't tell me I actually vomited in the sea in front of everyone!" I exclaimed.

He scoffed and replied, "That's not the part you need to worry about."

Confused, I looked at him and tried to remember more. All I could recall was people urging me to drink. Annoyed, I said, "Please spare me your sarcasm. My head is pounding, and I need to go to work."

I mustered my strength, ignoring the pounding in my head, and started to get out of bed.

"Are you kidding me?", he suddenly said, before he grabbed my chin from behind and yanked me back. I fell backward, and as I looked up at him, he asked, "Where do you think you're going?"

"What? It's not like I threw up on your deck," I said, hoping to calm him down.

He looked at me incredulously and asked, "You really don't remember anything else?"

"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.

"Maybe insulting your new 'friends' by calling them creepy and filthy," he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

"I never—"

"Oh, yes, you did."

As memories flooded my mind, I realized with horror how my new pirate companions must have perceived me. "God, they're going to kill me for sure!"
