∞ Agenor's POV ∞

I stepped out of the cabin, stretching my limbs as I basked in the warm glow of the rising sun. A sense of calm washed over me, as if my stress had miraculously dissipated, leaving my mind at ease and my body refreshed. I absentmindedly ran a hand over my bare chest, feeling the lingering warmth of Nyx's presence, and sighed at the emptiness I felt without him securely nestled in my arms.

With a buoyant spirit, I made my way towards the forecastle, embracing the prospect of a productive and fulfilling day of work. After raising the sail, I went about my usual routine, inspecting every nook and cranny of the ship. Everyone moved around me with a determined focus, keen to avoid drawing any negative attention. Even Ace found no reason to reprimand anyone.

When Baril limped past me, I warned him to ensure that Nyx had a proper lunch today. I made sure my words carried to those nearby, understanding that if Nyx was wary of these individuals, I couldn't fully trust that they would keep their distance. I had experienced the consequences of that trust before, and I had no desire to repeat it.

Before Nyx stepped out of that cabin, I needed to ensure that none of these individuals held enough resentment to harm him.

"Captain, we've started sorting the weapons for sale," Ace informed me.

"Very well, let's take a closer look. I'm curious to see how much we can fetch for them," I replied.

Ace nodded, and together we made our way to the lowest level of the hull. We spent several hours sifting through piles of weapons, setting aside the most valuable pieces for myself. When boredom eventually set in, I realized that it was already past lunchtime, Nyx should've gotten up by now.

As I ascended through the hull, I noticed an unusual silence permeating the ship. Normally, by this time, the crew would have finished their lunches and be gathered together, laughing about something idiotic. I checked the inner quarters and found most of them either napping or on the verge of it, with Maren producing the loudest snore—a testament to his reversed sleeping schedule, a trait befitting a bat.

Where were the troublemakers?

As I stood beneath the opening in the hull, leading to the deck, my heart skipped a beat. I could hear voices and laughter emanating from the cabin, and fear for my beloved Nyx's safety gripped my heart. I leaped out of the hull and sprinted towards my cabin, where the sight before me left me utterly speechless.

My den was overrun with a multitude of pirates, sprawled across every available surface—my floor, my table, my boxes... and even my bed. Gus, Lou, and Nash lounged lazily on my bed, treating it as their own.

MY. BED.

They all appeared at ease, wearing idiotic smiles as they directed their gaze towards the same point.
