Chapter 1: Madeleine

Today was the first day back to school from winter break and I was so not ready to quote on quote what my Mom says, "get my learn on". I just wanted to go back to sleep, stay in all day, watch lots of tv and romance movies in fuzzy socks and take a nice relaxing bath with a bath bomb because I'm THAT cliche girl. I meet up with my friend Miranda at the subway. We talked about our breaks she said she spent most of her's with her boyfriend Elijah and I admitted I spent most of mine dreaming of a boyfriend to have. The rest of the day was pretty boring, but it was fine because I was about to go to my favorite class... science; it wasn't the class itself it was our teacher Mr. Forks. He had a way of connecting with his students and making learning fun; today we had started our project. He chose the partners and I had my faith he would give me somebody good; somebody I could work with. As there was few people left for me to get paired with I started to get nervous. Finally, he said Madeleine Marino you are going to be paired with Noah Richie. I turned around to Noah and gave Mr. F a little bit of annoyed look; he said he was excited about this pairing. Noah wasn't bad, he just wasn't my ideal partner. I didn't understand why Mr. F would pair us and be so extremely happy about it I mean Noah's cute, on the football team, and went to my church. He wasn't like the Channing Tatum of our school, but he was definitely up there. Meanwhile, I was the Selena Gomez of our school, everybody knew me but I wasn't the most popular, not by far. I started wondering if Noah would make me do all the work or if he would actually chip in some. I wondered if he was a jerk like most other jocks or if he would actually be somewhat sweet. I wondered if maybe we'd actually end up... I don't know becoming like an item. But then I brought myself back to reality; oh you silly girl, I thought, a guy like him would never like a girl like you.
