"Don't be nervous, my darling. I just need to go into work for a few hours. I am the CEO of this company. I can do what I please." Jumin stroked your hair as you were being driven towards his business.
"Oh, Jumin. I just don't want to impose." You leaned your head against his shoulder hesitantly. It had only been a few days since your mutual confessions and although Jumin was ready to launch into a full-fledged relationship immediately, you took some warming up. After all, it was your very first one."You could never impose on me." He reassured you.
"But I'm dressed so casually. No one in South Korea even wears jeans, let alone to work!" It was your worst fear to be under-dressed, but you just loved blue jeans so much and Jumin insisted that you looked so good that you decided that you had to wear them today.
"That's not true, people do wear them. And yes, perhaps not to work, but you are not working. You're just here for... safekeeping?" He ventured, unsure of the word.
"Safekeeping? I suppose so. I'm coming with you so that you can watch over me. Although I assure you that I don't need it." You pouted just a little, bothered that Jumin didn't think you could take care of yourself.
"I'm sure that you don't. But it would make me feel better. Please, allow me the pleasure of having you at my workplace. In fact, I believe that we have arrived."
As you waited patiently for Driver Kim to open your door, Jumin gave your hand one last squeeze. Even if you were dating now, it still wasn't proper South Korean etiquette to show affection publicly.
Bravely, you stepped out of the car in your black ballet flats, waist-high blue jeans and white button-up blouse. As Jumin waved you forward, you decided to try and walk slightly behind him, so you could see where he was going. But this didn't last long. His long arm quickly guided itself behind your back and nudged you forward, causing you both to walk side-by-side.
"Now it may look chaotic as we walk up to my office, but just ignore it. I have my own agenda and my own concerns. People may come up to me and speak quickly at me in Korean, but they should all be going through Jaehee Kang, my assistant. I will introduce you to her once we reach my floor." Jumin assured you.
And he wasn't wrong. As soon as you both stepped in the building, it felt like the entire workforce took a three second pause to analyze you, observed Jumin's possessive aura over you and then immediately resumed a flurry of work.
"Mr. Han! Mr. Han!" Everyone seemed to call out to Jumin, bowing and talking quickly at him. He consistently replied the same thing, which you assumed was something along the lines of "Please go through Assistant Kang."
The elevator was no different, which Jumin staring blankly forward as he stood protectively next to you, feigning off different people who needed his attention. Eventually, the elevator reached the top floor.
"Hello, Mr. Han." Jaehee Kang, you presumed, was there right as the door opened.
"Hello, Assistant Kang. Today I will be speaking in English as a polite gesture to my very special guest, YN. Please, treat her with respect as well. We're going into my office for the morning. Please hand me the list of phone calls that I need to make."
"U-Uh, very well, Mr. Han." Jaehee effortlessly switched over into English. "Here is the list of calls and the business that you need to attend to on each one. There is not any more than average so I suspect you will be done by lunch time. Would you like me to check in before then?"
"Ah, no. No need. Thank you, Assistant Kang. That will be all." He reached out for the paper that Jaehee instantly handed him.
Then, you finally made it into the office.
