Even on my days off I spend them at pops. Only this time I was alone. No Archie and Betty, No Veronica, and no Jughead. I sat at the bar, as I watched Colin train Hermione Lodge. I chuckled as he brought me my food, and I smiled. I started to eat when I heard, "Isn't she a South Side Serpent?" Hermione poorly whispered to Colin. "Yeah, but Pops said give her a chance, shes the best waitress we got so far. I mean he hired you" He told her and I smiled myself. "Yeah well my husband was the criminal, not me." I then rolled my eyes.
Getting flashbacks of the times I'd come home to tell my parents the things people would say about me or my family. He'd only get upset that I was upset, but tell me that we can't judge books by their cover. Grabbing the warm plate of food I stood and turned on my heal.
I sat in the booth Jughead and I usually share, as I sipped on my milkshake moping, and tried to shimmy off my jacket. "Hey you" I heard and turned to see Pop. "Hey Pop" I said softly sitting up, as he sat with me. "Did you see the new waitress?" He asked leaning on the table. I raised an eyebrow, and leaned forward to. "Yeah?" I asked and Pops nodded with a mmhmm. I smiled and said "You're not firing me are you?" I asked and he gave me a look. "You?" He asked and I nodded, before pops laughed.
"Definitely not. Like I said when I hired you Just because you live in the south side doesn't mean you're big and evil. I know if you had a chance you'd be able to do great" Pops told me placing a hand on my arm. I smiled and suddenly a 'hehem' sounded. "Pops I need your help" Hermione said and Pops turned to me, "Don't get too down in the dumps before I make you work today" He told me and I giggled, as he winked and walked away.
I smiled to myself as I took a gulp of milkshake. Suddenly a cute boy sat in front of me. "Uh, can I help you?" I asked grasping and swirling my straw around the tall milkshake glass. "I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Liam, and you are..?" He trailed off, and I just say "Talia" Liam nodded, "Talia, it has a nice ring to it." I raised an eyebrow, "Ring to what?" Liam smirked and just said "Im just saying our names together in my head." I made a weirded out face, as I think leaned on the table and whispered, "You do know i'm from the south side right?" Liam's eyes narrowed as if he didn't believe me. "No youre not" He said and I scoffed. I leaned up as Juggie walked in to Pops.
I leaned back against the seat, as he came over to me. "Who's this?" Jughead asked, and I scoffed. "No one Juggie" I got up grabbing my SS Serpents jacket, and pulled it on. I turned to see Liam's shocked face, "Still don't believe me?" I asked. Liam got up and walked away out of the shoppe. I sat back down pulling the jacket off, as Jughead sat down across from me.
"You should come to the game with me tomorrow night" He said taking a fry from my plate. I chuckled, and said "Can't, gotta work" Jughead then turned and called out "Pop!" Pop came over to us, and he asked "Can my sister take the night off tomorrow, so I can take her out to socialize like a normal human?" Pops looked at me winking, as he then said "Course Jughead."
Jughead gave me a smile, as he said "Looks like your schedule just cleared up T" I chuckled and said "Fine Juggie, I'll go with you."
As the next day comes and goes I left my serpent jacket at home, and wore a flannel instead. I stood by the fence, as I ate some popcorn. "Girl trouble?" I asked, as Archie came over. He gave me a look, and I cracked "Juggie told me, don't worry your secret is safe with me Archie" Archie nodded, "Thanks T" I nodded, as Jughead came over, and basically said the same thing I did, "Girl problems? You?" Archie nodded, "Grundy and me. We're telling Weatherbee. At least, I am. And also, I didn't mean all that crap I said to you. I'm sorry."
I smiled, as Jughead then called out "It's cool. We're not gonna hug in front of this whole town." The three of us laughed, as Jughead continued to say " So why don't we both just do that bro thing where we nod like douches and mutually suppress our emotions?" Archie nodded smiling, "Yeah, but as friends, right?" Jughead just says "To be discussed, over many burgers, and many days." I sighed rolling my eyes and said "Well I for one, am cheering for you Arch, so go kick some ass!" Archie chuckled and side hugged me, before going back to the field.
Finding a seat in the stands Jughead and I sat together, as it started. "Now to kickoff this pep rally, I'd like to hand it over to our very own Mayor McCoy." Mayor McCoy stood infront of us, as she called out "Thank you, Principal Weatherbee. It is heartening to see so many of you here, even in weather like this. But a lack of heart and school spirit has never been the Riverdale way. Tonight's pep rally isn't like any other we've had in the past. And we shouldn't pretend that it is. Which is why I would like to dedicate this evening to the memory of one of our brightest. Jason Blossom. We're with him tonight. Now please, join me in welcoming to the field our very own River Vixens, and their special guest stars, my daughter, Josie and her Pussycats!"
The crowd around us cheered, as the 'Vixens' started doing their thing. When they finished the cheering got louder, as the coach came on stage. "All right, you all ready? Let's make some noise! Put your hands together for the Riverdale Bulldogs!" Suddenly with all the commotion Cheryl Blossom ran off. I chuckled and turned to Jughead. "Five bucks says she snapped" I whispered and Jughead nudged me shhing me in the process.
When the game ended Jughead insisted I follow him and Archie to Pops. For my Employee Discount, but I think its because he misses me a lot when i'm not around him. We walked in and I followed them to Betty and a girl I met the other day named Veronica. "Do you guys want to join us?" Betty asked, and I walked up tugging Juggie with me. "Yes, but only if you're treating." They laughed, and I squeezed in beside Archie. "Veronica Lodge." Veronica introduced herself to Jughead. "Jughead Jones, the third." He said and I giggled, as Veronica called out "Jughead Jones, the third." She then turned to me and asked "And you're Talia right?" I smiled and nodded. "Yup, just call me T" Archie nudged me and I chuckled.
