CHAPTER 3

Just when I was about to get a high score in Candy Crush I got a message from an unknown number.

* Unknown Number: Don't get too comfy Isabel

'Creepy' I thought, as I stared at the message, forwning. I quickly put my phone into my bag and started to doodle on my notepad. I was in the- 'Just act like nothing happened' mode.

'It's nothing. Everything is fine. Don't care' I reassured myself. I knew it was definitely something to worry about but, I was so sick of these games and so used to it that, I decided it was best if I just ignored it. Besides, it's just a text message. A text message can't kill me. If things get any worse, I'll just call my dad.

My worrisome thoughts were disturbed when, our Biology teacher walked into class.

"Good morning class," He shouted. Everyone stopped what they were doing and sat in their respective seats.

"My name is Mr. Phillip; I am your new biology teacher,"

He looked like he was in his forties. He wasn't balding but, he had grey hair here and there. He wore a grey suit, which showed off his slightly fat stomach.

"What happened to Mr. Greene?" Some guy sitting on my left asked curiously. He had jet black eyes and dark brown hair, which almost looked ebony, which was weird. He was good looking.

"Don't you kids watch the news?" Mr. Phillip asked, looking at everyone. They just gave him blank expressions. "Yes, I thought so. Unfortunately, Mr. Greene had an accident. He is no more."

There was silence for some time, till a girl spoke up saying, "It wasn't an accident, sir. Mr. Greene was found mutilated in the forest. Either it was a crazy serial killer, or an animal."

She was sitting next to the 'gorgeous' guy. The only thing I could see was her red hair. She had hair like Merida, from the movie Brave; very ironic, considering how she spoke with the teacher. But it wasn't as fuzzy as it was for Merida. It was curlier, not frizzy.

Everyone turned to look at her. Mr. Phillip paused for a moment. He kept staring at her like he couldn't believe what he had heard.

"I watched the news." She muttered.

"Well, that's an achievement." Mr. Phillip said, breaking away from his weird trance. "Let's start then. Please open your books to page numb-"

He was cut off by a phone ringing. I didn't realize it was mine until everyone turned and looked at me.

"Uh... Sorry. I... Uh..." 'Shit!' I cursed in my head as I quickly ransacked my bag pack, searching for my phone. I didn't even bother checking my phone and I switched it off. When I looked up, Mr. Phillip was standing right in front of my desk.

"Hi?" I said, like the stupidest fool you could ever find on the face of this planet.

Everyone started to laugh. 'Gorgeous guy' was laughing the most. I felt like giving him my evil glare to shut him up but, I stopped myself.

"I will be taking everyone's phones." Mr. Phillip said, getting a basket decorated with lots of ribbons. Everyone groaned and complained to themselves while hesitantly placing their phones into the basket. "You can take it after class"

'Great' I thought, 'Everyone hates me now'
