"This party is going to be lit"

It was about fifteen minutes to seven when we reached the so-called party location. I noticed the dim lights and faint sound of music coming from a mile down the place where Luke decided to park the car. The ride till here was pretty quiet, except for Luke's friend constantly praising the party.

"You're drunk, mate. Hold my hand." Luke said jokingly, as he got some boxes out of the car.

Even though Luke's friend was a little annoying, I was glad he accompanied us, as he somehow always managed to break the awkward silence with his random remarks.

I looked over at the boxes and realized I should be a little helpful. I walked over to Luke unloading the last box out of the car.

"Need a hand?"

"Nah, it's chill. I'll carry one and the other guys will get the rest of them." Luke said, picking one of the boxes ready to walk downhill.

"I mean, I'm all up for heavy lifting. Don't be deceived by these flimsy hands. I'm pretty strong." I said, attempting to carry one of the boxes.

"No, wait-

Before Luke could stop me, the heavy box opened from the bottom right when I lifted it, the contents in it scattered around.

"I am so sorry" I said, fishing out my phone and switching on the flashlight. What I saw next confused me.

There were herbs, which looked nothing like marijuana, old books that looked so familiar for some odd reason, and a- a burrito?

"What is all this?" I questioned, pointing my phones flashlight up at Luke, but to find no one standing there.

"Luke?" I called out, looking around, shining the phones light.

I started to panic, obviously. What the hell was going on here?

I quickly stuffed everything back into the box and walked up to the car, trying to open the door so I could get my bag in order to pepper spray or knife anything that comes near me. But, the car door was locked.

'Perfect. Right out of those cliché horror movies' I thought, as I tried to come up with a better idea. I looked around and spotted the dim lights in the distance. The party was still up and running.

I put the box down and started to sprint towards the lights and the faint music grew louder and louder with each step I took. I started to calm down as the sight of people dancing, laughing and drinking became visible to me. I slowed down to take a breath, and slipped into the crowd.

It wasn't a party that was crazy and needed cops with shields and crowd control. Even though some of them were pretty drunk, they were pretty decent. I did spot a few of them in a heavy make out session, but that was it.

I sat down on a rock that was overlooking the lake below. The moon was out and was pretty bright. I looked up to see a full moon that was partially covered by some clouds.

I started to think about what happened earlier, when someone behind me interrupted my thoughts. "I've never liked the moon, you know."

I was sitting on a rock that was right next to the party so there were people around, just in case I was in any sort of danger. But, who am I kidding? No one could protect me from the dangers I knew.
