CHAPTER 5
"You owe me ten bucks"
"Whatever" I said, rolling my eyes.
When it came to playing Mortal Kombat, I sucked. It was the weekend and we had finished setting up the whole house. The neighbors were really friendly. They called us for a neighborhood get-together that they had every 3 months and they also called us for the 'neighborhood watch out' meeting, which was held usually when there were strange things happening in the locality, and which we had to attend today.
"So, how was your first day?" My dad asked, joining us in the living room. He sat down and opened the can of beer he was holding.
"It was cool" Iris said, still playing mortal kombat.
"It was okay. Iris made new friends." I said, smiling.
"Oh! Tell me all about it" my dad said, eagerly.
"It was nothing." Iris said, in an uninterested tone, "Some people were nice to me and stuff"
"Which is very weird, since that rarely happens in high school" I finished for her.
After a long pause, all that came out of my dad was, "Oh".
We sat there in silence for some time, till my dad spoke up.
"Iris, it is pretty weird. Keep your distance"
I don't know why, but what my dad said pissed her off. And she started to argue.
"Why? Why should I? I finally made some decent friends and you want me to stay away from them? I mean, it's hard enough for me to be this way and I'm not planning on making it any harder."
And with that, she ran up to her room, as she tried very hard not to cry a river.
After I was done with dinner, I went upstairs to check on her. I slowly knocked on her door but there was no answer. I felt horribly guilty for putting my family through this.
After waiting for a few minutes and with no reply from the other side, I decided to give her some space and proceeded to pass out on my bed.

"You're only hurting yourself more by doing that, you know" she said, giving me a concerned look.
I looked down to see my left hand with multiple cuts and a knife fallen on the grass.
"What" I whispered, staring at my bleeding hand.
"I didn't do this to myself" I defended, looking up at her.
She shook her head, as if she were disappointed and said, "You don't see the truth when its right in front of you. What a shame."
With that, she turned around and started to walk away, with her silver gown that had fresh stains of blood all over.
I opened my eyes to find myself in my room. But to my surprise, I wasn't in my new room.
"Wait, what?" I said, jolting up from my bed. I was back in my old room. It was quiet and my blue curtains slowly moved as the wind pushed through from the bay windows.
'Did I start to teleport too?' I thought, as I stood frozen. After moments of silence, I heard something move behind me. I quickly turned to see my dad, with a concerned look on his face.
"Bad dream?" He said, frowning. His voice seemed like it was coming from quite a distance.
"Isabel, wake up"
