A/N

Okay I have a bit of a timeskip here ngl, I felt like only parts of the battle of Hogwarts were relevant to my plotline. This is one of my last chapter, can't believe we are at the end I have been writing this for so long. Epilogue will be coming. Thank you everyone for the support.

After wandering through the castle aimlessly, I deduce that there is no diadem anywhere I have looked. I need to find my friends. The castle is in utter chaos, and they are coming, the boundaries have been broken, and Death Eaters have already started to swarm the grounds. I run up the flight of stairs as fast as I can, unsure if I will ever walk back down them. On the second floor, a Death Eater runs towards me, shouting curses. I do my best to counteract them, engaging in a duel. I fire every curse, hex and jinx I can think of, but nothing is working. Then, all of a sudden, we stop.

The voice of Voldemort overhead can be heard. He recalls his followers, and the Death Eater disappears. I look around me, bewildered, and rush to the ground floor, immediately helping to carry lifeless bodies into the Great Hall, help the injured to Madam Pomfrey as quickly as possible. As I lay down another body, holding back my tears as I see classmates completely lifeless, dead because of this terrible battle, I notice Harry, Ron and Hermione enter the Hall.

'Hey,' I say as I reach the, embracing each one. 'Thank God you're all alright.' Ron's eyes are fixed on a point beyond me. I turn around to see the Weasley's huddled together, and follow Ron as he begins to run over.

Fred.

His lifeless body is layed on the floor, his face no longer comedic. I stare, tears spilling down my face, as Ron sinks to his knees and sobs. Harry backs away. After a moment, I decide to follow him, to let the Weasley's grieve as a family, and attempt to stifle my tears.

'Harry?'

'I'm going. Alyssia, I'm going, I have to do it. People are dying, this has to stop. I'm going to the forest.'

'Harry no, you can't!' I wail, tears flooding from my eyes, and I run forward to embrace him. He pulls me close, and buries his head in my chest. 'You're an amazing wizard Harry, I'll never forget you.' I cry, my tears pooling on his jacket. He pulls out of the embrace and smiles weakly, starting to walk away. After a few seconds, he stops, and turns around.

'He's here, Draco. Find him and leave. Get out of here with him whilst you can.' With that, he's gone.

I stand shellshocked for a few minutes. Slowly, I begin to wander through the castle. He isn't down by the Black Lake, or in the library, or the Entrance Hall. I continue throughout the castle, finding myself in the stone courtyard, desperate to find him, and I see him.

He's looking straight at me. Dressed in his usual back suit, his face dirty, his platinum blonde hair messy, his eyes saddened. I stare and don't move for a minute, then slowly walk towards him. He approaches me, stopping just before me.

'You're alive.' He breathes, touching my face.

'So are you.' I reply, looking up at him. I notice he is crying.

'I - I'm so sorry.' His voice shakes as he tries to hold back his sobs. 'I'm so sorry. I fucked it up so bad, I should have been dead a long time ago for what I did to you, I wish we had gotten out of this fucked-up place a long time ago.'

'Why did you do it? Why did you join them, why did you torture so many people, so may innocent people, for his satisfaction? Why did you torture me?'

He winces at my words, looking beyond me. 'It wasn't me. That wasn't me. I had no choice, I had to keep you safe. I had to show him I didn't care enough. He told me he would hunt you down and kill you, by the slowest possible death, and make me watch. I had no choice, my parents are Death Eaters, I couldn't avoid it.' He is silent for a second. 'Why did you leave me? I thought you would die. You left me sobbing on the floor for you. He almost killed me for that.'

'Just like you said - I had no choice. I had to protect you, and myself, and Harry. And my family. I had no choice.' I whisper, tears leaking from my eyes. There is a long pause.

'Do you still love me?' He asks.

'Yes. I never stopped loving you, ever. I have always loved you, Draco.' I look up into his face. 'And do you love me?'

'Yes. I am never, ever letting go of you again. I mean it.'

He steps forwards and embraces me. I close my eyes - how I've missed this. 'I'll never let you go.' He whispers into my hair.

'Never let me go, then.' I mumble in reply. We are silent for a moment.

'Can we run away together? Like, right now? I can't stay here any longer, I need to be with you, in our own special place, growing old. We can forget everyone else.' I look at him for a moment, taking in his features, his pleading expression, and nod, smiling slightly.

'Yeah. Let's do it. Let's do it now.' Draco smiles and takes my hand. Gently, he kisses my lips. 'Merlin, I missed you.'

'And I missed you.' I smile. 'Where to?' I ask him, my grip on his hand firm, as we look out over the castle.

'It's a surprise.' Draco grins, glancing down at me. With that, he turns on the spot, and we fall into nothingness.

When we arrive, the room is familiar. I look around to find myself crying again. My living room. I turn around slowly and let out a sob. He brought them all back. My mum, Morgan, my dad and Rick all stand there, grinning. He brought them back. Finally, we are home.
