Chapter 18

Finn awoke to an empty bed, he panicked for a moment but soon remembered Rachel was at work

He blinked a couple of times to get the sleep out of his eyes, he looked at his watch. It wasn't that early, it was only 10 o'clock in the morning

He decided to get a taxi to the woods, just outside of it, it would be a little creepy for a guy to be getting dropped off at the woods

He called the taxi and waited for the double ring to say that it was here. When the call came he made sure the door was shut and made a few quick checks before leaving

He ran down the stairs and went outside. He saw a black taxi. He asked the driver if it was for "Hudson" and the cab driver confirmed

Finn got in and told him where to go. Finn sat just looking out of the window, everything was moving fast for him. Just 2 weeks ago he couldn't stand rachel and now look, he can't love her any more

The taxi pulled up just outside of the woods but the driver asked Finn what he was doing at the woods

He saw this coming to be honest

"What are you doing at the woods son? If you don't mind me asking" the taxi driver asked looking out of the window and into the woods

Finn quickly thought of an excuse because he wasn't going to say that he lived there.... creepy

"Just going in for hunting, one of my favourite hobby's. How much do I owe you sir?" He asked

"$5.80 please son" the driver smiled

Finn just gave him $7, two twenty tip

He said bye and the driver sped off

Finn scratched his ear and walked into the woods, he missed this place but it also brought an eerie feeling to him

He unlocked his door and went inside, he breathed the smell of the air he used to breathe in.

"Smells like home" he smiled at the end

He went in for a shower and got changed. He put on his nice aftershave. He needed a haircut badly, that's what he was going to do next

If your wondering, he had got a job.... as a manager, but he took some time off. He needed to get his life together. He was going back to work next week

He hasn't even told Rachel that he is a manager. Shit. She will understand, he's just never had the time to tell her with how fast everything is going with them both

He pulled out his phone and hesitated wether or not to call this person who has been on his mind

He hovered his finger over the contact and finally gathered the courage to press it

It rang a few times before they answered

"Hello?"

Finn gulped quickly and made little talk

"Hey mum, it's finn" he said

There was silence at the other end

"What do you want?" His mother asked

"What can I not call without being interrogated?" He asked harshly

Yet another silence

"This was a mistake" he said before hanging up on his mother. How dare she be so cruel, he hasn't done anything

He could be dead and she wouldn't care

He ran his hand over his face and laughed

"I'm an idiot"

He sat on his couch when he got a text from Rachel, his face lit up when he saw who it was from

Hey, don't know if your up but there's cereal in the bottom left cupboard x- rach

He smiled and texted back

Hey beautiful, I'm actually in my own house. Are you on your break?- finn

Yeah, just about to finish, call you later babe x- rach

Ok babe, have a good day x- finn

He put his phone away and turned on the tv, he was watching some random tv show when his phone dinged again

He picked it up and looked who it was from

I'm sorry for the way I acted on the phone, call me please x- mum

He huffed and put his phone on the table and pretended nothing happened
