Chapter 2

After many festivities and one to many drinks, you decided to call it a night. However you remembered you had no where to go. You sighed, laying your head on the table.

That's when a girl with purple hair and glasses stalked her way over to you. She lightly tapped your shoulder, which mildly startled you. "Need a place to stay?" She asked politely.

"Yeah, actually I do." You looked at her suspiciously. 'How did she know?'

She took your hand, shaking it violently. "Oh my Mavis! I am sooo excited! My name is Laki Olietta, I'm a Make Wizard too!" She was talking so fast that you had to replay what she said, just to process it.

"Lets go! You'll love my place, it's made out of a tree and has a library!" She beamed at you while dragging you out of the guild by your arm.

You followed her to the edge of town and back into the East Forest. 'What were the odds she'd take me back to where I began.' You thought to yourself as the two of you walked.

The two of you went down a path that led to a small stone walk way. After feeling like you weren't actually going anywhere, you entered a meadow. In the center of the meadow was a colossal sized tree. You recognized it from the night before.

Laki dragged you up to the door. "Like it?" Still feeling awkward, you nodded. She giggled at your reaction. "Wait until you see the inside!"

She opened the door and pushed you in. The inside appeared bigger than the outside, if that was even possible. It was so spacious.

As you looked around the front room it had a couch, two arm chairs, side tables and a large wooden coffee table. Underneath the furniture was a plush maroon rug.

In the kitchen there was a working sink, large counter spaces, several wooden cabinets, a fridge, a stove and microwave, hanging from a root was a giant glass chandelier. Leading further back was a narrow hallway that led to a rather large bedroom, across from it was a decently sized, completely furbished bathroom.

You walked back out into the front room and realized there was a small staircase leading up to a giant round window that had a bench with a large green cushion and a few throw pillows. Surrounding the window were several shelves packed full of books. Hanging all around were fairy lights in the shape of little hearts in all different colors.

After taking everything in, you walked up to Laki who was in the kitchen. "Your place is incredible! I don't even have the words to describe how much I love it!" Laki looked at you absolutely delighted.

"I've never had another guild member here, so I'm excited that you're here and that you like it!" She giggled and clapped her hands together. "I made this place myself actually." Your jaw nearly hit the floor.

"No fucking way!" Laki laughed at your reaction.

"The tree was already here, but I did everything else.." She trailed off. "You hungry?" She looked at you with a bright smile.

Still in shock, you slowly nodded your head. "Yeah, I could eat." You faced her with a smile.

"Awesome. I'll make some soup and tea!" She smiled back. "Go ahead and go make yourself comfortable. I'll bring your food out when it's done."

"Would you like any help?" You asked hopeful to repay her kindness.

"No no. Now go sit." She replied with the same smile.

"Are you su-" She cut you off with just a stare. She was still smiling, but it was ominous. "N-never mind.." You said sheepishly. Then retreated into the front room, taking a seat in one of the arm chairs.
