I get Athena to our sitter and make my way to work. It is starting to get a bit cool out as it is the beginning of September. I am so worried for Niall. He has never been this way before. He says everything is good at school. He sleeps good at night. He's just looking so pale and tired. He is sleeping more than normal lately. Maybe Bobby is right. His wolf may be starting to appear and his body is going through changes. But I feel it's more than just that. A mother just knows when something is off with one of her pups. I make my way into the bakery that I work at. Have been working here since we moved here a few years ago. Barbara, the owner, is already getting the display set up with all kinds of goodies. Smells so good in here. The smell of coffee and muffins and cupcakes fill the air.

"Good morning Barb", I say as I walk in and head to the back to grab my apron

"Morning Maura", She calls out to me. "How are you this morning?", She asks with one of her smiles on her face. I don't know that I have ever seen her without a smile. She is just a happy vibrant woman. Helps to work around someone like her. Changes my mood to a good one everytime I walk in here. Makes working more pleasurable.

"Doing good", I tell her as I walk back to the front. "Can't complain", i tell her with a smile

"Alright love, talk to me", She says wiping her hands on her apron and directing us to a table. Still a bit early to open so we sit down and have coffee together.

"What do you mean?", I ask her confused. I should know by now she sees through the smiles and looks in the eyes straight to your soul. Caring woman she is.

"I see it in your eyes love", She says smiling sympathetically at me

"Just worried about Niall", I tell her and go on to explain why.

"Oh honey. It could be both things. Just keep an eye on him, but I think our boy is gonna be just fine. If it is due to his Alpha being close, he will reveal himself in due time. He wont let his omega suffer while he stays in hiding. If it's due to his wolf appearing soon, that's just a couple days away", She explains encouragingly. "And that may also be when his Alpha reveals himself as well", She continues.

"Thank you Barb", I tell her squeezing her hand. We get up and put our coffees behind the counter and get the store opened up.

"If you need me just holler", She says as she goes back to the back to get more things made up.

I start getting more coffee and cappuccino made up and get other things started waiting for our first customer of the day. Just as I got everything going the bell dinged letting me know that someone entered. I could feel that it was an Alpha that entered and I immediately go into my Omega stance. Standing at the counter with my arms behind my back and head bowed. I have not met this Alpha before. I knew that for sure before I even looked at him.

"Good morning Omega", He says in a happy tone

"Morning Alpha", I say still not looking at him

"Omega, you can look at me", He says laughing a bit. That laugh was a happy one, not a dominant one.

I look up and see a burly man standing there. Salt and peppered hair. A mustache and a graying beard. He did look like a cuddly teddy bear. Didn't have that Dominant powerful aura that comes with some Alpha's.
