The Suspect

The Call

It was a week after, the terrible incident ... Annie was no longer allowed to go visit her grand pa in the hospital,  that order was from her uncle Fred..Her relationship with Fred was worsening by the day, it was indeed a work load for Annie to handle.... But what can she do she has to just endure everything.....

It was the early hours in the morning, when Annie phone rang ...her favourite ringing tone which was a popular Christian song by Frank Edward, titled Nara Ekele, immediately she saw her phone, she picked it but low and  behold it was her grand pa calling ...she immediately jumped out of her bed, looking confused and surprised... She began to ask her self  different questions " should I answer this call or not" but finally she answered the call....

" my dear child, said directly from the phone, please come and see me in the hospital, how will you leave me here in the hospital all alone" Grandpa Annie called out, if this is  really the grand pa I know then I will come to the hospital. Immediately, but i just want to beg you for something, she said so fast as if someone with a knife was standing in her front of her to kill her... " Go on my dear child, but if you want to ask for my forgiveness, I have no grudge against you, just come to hospital even if you are the last person I see before I die, it would be the best thing that can happen to me". All his words melted her her heart.... And finally she  allowed the tears to flow down freely.... She then now realized how much  she has  missed her grand pa....

Immediately she showered , wore her favourite pink short gown with a nice heels which was a gift from her secret admirer which she hasn't met once in her life.... " but why am I dressing this way, hope no body will scold me there," and immediately she remembered her uncle Fred, she just saw that an uncommon boldness came over her and she marched straight away to the big sitting room, where she took her car keys from the dinning table and drove straight to the hospital, with a heart divided of love and fear...

It was a ten minutes drive , she arrived the hospital just in time grand pa was done eating , and her grand mother was taking the dishes away, she could see everything through the window , and she knocked the room door, immediately  a voice beckoned on her to come in as if it knew who was at the door....

A dash of  smile was seen in Annie grand pa face, he beckoned on her to come hug him, Annie at first was scared but she decided to, she hugged him so tightly as if he was going to die that minute.... While hugging him she saw that she indeed missed her grand pa so much, the emotions was so strong that, grand ma followed suit in their beautiful family hug....
" thanks for coming my dear child, he said in her ears, and she node's
...

Grand pa, signalled his wife to leave the room and she obeyed quickly ," now that I have this time to talk to you, because I know the walls has ears and I don't know if I can make it out here peacefully .... " " stop it grand pa, you are totally fine and you will leave here in good health and Still remain to be the best grand pa that is strict, kind, loyal and who loves his children and wants the best for them .." A beautiful smile crossed the old man lips, it showed just one thing , he loves his grand child.

" As for the test results, you will get them under my pillows, they have been there since I left Nigeria after the death of my child, who is your mother, my dear your mother didn't die a natural death she was poisoned...... Immediately he said this he felt a huge pain right in his heart , while as for Annie it was as if the earth should open and swallow her, she was really bitter.... " but who would have don't that to my mum, she was just too nice, kind, and caring"

She asked as she burst into tears , but she was consoled by her grand pa..... " It okay my child, crying, pain, won't bring her back " he said ....
.
Now, you have to be in action as soon as you get home go immediately to my room and search for the test result ...... Also you will see another file brown in colour bring it here when coming tomorrow and don't mention this to any one, because everyone is now a suspect .......

" but grandpa should I go now" Annie asked, " yes" he replied with so much speed , and she gave him a peak him in the fore head and wished him good day...... Leaving the hospital was hard for her, but she had to do it.

She saw her grand ma sitting so cold in the visitors line, looking so cold and angry, immediately she saw Annie she tried to force a  smile but she couldn't, as Annie walked up to her, she could feel an uneasiness which made her weak..

" my child are you leaving now Annie grand ma asked her, " oh yes am done with grand pa" so what did he tell you" she asked with the colours of her eyes turning red
... Annie almost replied, when she remembered what her grand pa told her ....." Don't mention this to any one because everyone is a suspect, '  she remembers  vividly ... " oh that , nothing  much, he only asked about school and his I was faring in  school....

Hmmmm
Annie asked herself but what does grand pa mean by everyone is a suspect , she asked herself as she was about getting into her car, " "well i  think he just wants me to be careful ," she concluded herself .....

Annie got home but met the shock of her life, when she saw her uncle Fred at home sitting on one of the coach in the sitting room.
." where are you coming from you little girl... Didn't I tell you not to go to the hospital to see grand pa or else work? He asked

" well replied Annie with so much boldness, he is  my grand pa don't forget that, and I have all the right to go visit him in the hospital ..... You have no right to stop me , because I am a part of this family and nothing you can do  , will change that fact..." She spoke with all boldness, she tried to hard to hold the tears, and when she was done she left her poor uncle looking like a fool....... And short of words...

She walked so fast to her and shut her door, locking it with her room keys, " at least if he comes here to beat me up, I will be Safe here" she said to her self.

What just happened has proven one fact to her that she should assume everyone is a suspect, she kept on asking her self question " how did he know I was at the hospital , who told him, how did he know he would me and he decided to wait for me" All her questions has no answer yet, but something strong in her tells her, she will know their answers soon enough.......
