Annie
It our turn for the march past, and Mrs Jane is asking for you.

Mrs Jane has never headed Annie group before, she just did this year because the blue house was always known for taking the last position ...

Mrs Joyce who was the principal, discussed with some teachers , who saw it fit, that their leader which is the teacher heading them should be changed this session, and let them see if there would be changes.

Mrs Jane was a no nonsense teacher, she never associated with lazy and non intelligent teachers, she saw them as bad kids, who just love to waste their parents money.

At first it came as a shock to the blue house , but they decided to give it a try, and put in their best. Later on, they saw themselves loving this woman and seeing that she just want them to their best.

She scolded them when they become Lazy, and shower them with praise when they do well.

Ma, You sent for me
Oh yes dear, I just received an information that we will be on the field ten minutes from now.....

Oh yes, I know that ma
And we promise to do our best for this house.

A beautiful smile crossed Mrs Jane gentle lips, and she said I know you will make me proud......

Finally, the blue house began their parade, it was so serious and very interesting . In their parade they sang the national anthem, and made a love curve after their salute....

After their parade, they were applauded by all the audience, and even other group were jealous of their parade..... Nobody needed to say it at that time  the blue house were already top in the competition......

Awwww, that was a good one.  U all did so well just put more efforts in the Marathon races...

Annie looked at the audience closely but saw no trace of her loving mother...

" so mummy has tricked me again right , well she still has time to show up..." Tears were are on the edge of her eyes, but she held them so strong so that nobody will ask her numerous questions ..

Marathon race has started , and all the houses were to select each representatives from their team ..

The first was the 100 meter race, Susan was chosen in the blue house to represent them..

When, it was time she told Annie to pray for her and wish her luck so she can win and therefore make their group proud..

" Annie wish me good luck so i may cone first, I don't want to be a disgrace and cause Mrs Jane to be mad at me." And Annie gave her a sweet response. " u have always won and today won't be different.., ".

And true to their words, Susan came top, blue house was so happy they rounded her and sang her praise......

She hugged Annie, and said " we are in this together , other students were wondering what was happening ...." What exactly is making blue house excel like this, who is giving them this kind of moral? This were the questions on everybody lips.........

Not long after, all the group in the house performed and finally " Blue house won the competition"....

Annie was very happy, that was the first time her group was winning and they all thanked Mrs Jane for her support. And they left with their trophy.... Oh Susan said, " Mrs Jane strictness to us was indeed for our own benefit, next year she would surely be our house mistress....

They both looked at each other and smiled. But deep down Annie was sad.....

Her mother didn't make it to the event with all her promises........
She wanted to cry, but she didn't want Susan to see her crying, but the expression on her face couldn't hide the pain...

" what is wrong Annie, is anything bothering you?  Nothing dear replied Annie but immediately she burst into uncontrollably tears , my mum didn't make it to our event with all her promises to me....

Hahahaha, is that why you are crying, stop been a cry baby what about me, did you by any chance see my mother here , and did you see me crying .......

It does not matter, there will be a reason why she couldn't make it.. Don't just make it spoil your happy mood.........

My brothers made a bet with me, and I have surely won over them....

On getting home, Annie met the shock of her life, her mother was lying on the bed lifeless and well dressed , with the look of things she was already ready to come to the event before the tragedy happened .....

" mum! mum! Mum! she cried out, she shakes her mother vehemently but there was no response....

She has been taught in school how to check a person pulse by a youth coper that came to their school for that purpose....

She held her mother hands, and used her fingers to press her mother hands, but felt nothing ....

She shouted, ran out of her house to call for help, but it was just too late. Her mother was dead and gone.......

Soon enough people  started trooping in to sympathize with her, it was then she knew she had aunties and uncles and even grand parents ......

We are your mother people, said Late Joan brother, before you were born, she packed her things and left the house, and since then has not spoke nor seen her , till her corpse which we are seeing today....
