Chapter 2

The next week went slower than any of them would have hoped. Although, it was a good thing that Rin and Haru agreed to the terms that were created for that Friday. Throughout the days that passed, Nagisa would give Haru annoying reminders at least twice a day, and neither Makoto or Rei could stop him. On the other hand, Gou would always tease Rin, making him flustered and agitated. Needless to say, they were all excited, even if Rin and Haru wouldn't admit it.

"Go get him, Haru-chan~!" Nagisa winked and gave Haru a thumbs-up as he and Makoto were about to leave for the reef.

"Good luck, Haruka," Rei smiled warmly.

"Thanks..." Haru mumbled before leaving, Makoto at his side.

"So.. are you nervous?" Makoto asked as they went to the outskirts of the Tribe.

"Of course," Haru sighed and nodded.

"It'll be fine, Haru."

"....."

"Onii-chan, let's go already!" Gou huffed as she tried to pull a nervous Rin behind her.

"Rin, if you don't get over it and move your shark ass, I will personally carry you to the reef," Sosuke sighed, approaching the two siblings. "Anyway, Ai and Momo had something to do. They wanted me to tell you good luck for them. So.. good luck, man."

After mumbling a few incoherent curses, Rin sighed and nodded. 

"Alright.. Let's go.."

After managing to get past the guards, Gou and Makoto sent Rin and Haru off on their own to the reef. Since Haru wasn't as reluctant as he was nervous, he had gotten there before Rin.

When Rin arrived, Haru made eye contact with him, immediately having second thoughts.

'What if this doesn't work out?'

'What if he hates me?'

'What if we get caught?'

"..-ru, Haru!"

Haru flinched, blinking.

"Ah... sorry..."

Rin grinned, shaking his head and putting out his hand.

"Don't worry about it. But, we might as well have introductions. I know you know me and I know you, but I'm Rin Matsuoka."

A small smile formed on Haru's face as he played along and shook Rin's hand.

"I know you know me, but I'm Haruka Nanase. I guess you already know to just call me Haru, though."

"Yeah," Rin nodded. "Now since that's out of the way, I guess we might as well take some time to ask each other questions."

A few hours went by, and the two boys learned a lot about each other. Haru learned that Rin's dad had died when he was a kid, and Rin learned that Haru never made many friends, other than Makoto, Nagisa, and Rei. There was someone else, too, but he couldn't remember. The name sounded familiar though, as if he knew him too. [Any guesses?]

As it got later, they realized they had to leave soon.

Suddenly, Rin turned to face Haru. He was grinning, and he had his hand reached towards him. 

"Haru. Before we go, I wanna show you something you've never seen before.."
