Chapter 7

[A/N]: Shit, guys- my bad for not updating for almost 2 months.. I just haven't had the motivation or time to think of what to write with state testing and final projects and stuff. So.. yeah.. pretty lame-ass excuse, I know. But school's out until sometime in August, so I'll try to update a bit more, kay?

Previously...

"Yeah, I get it," the Dolphin nodded, smiling gently. Rin grabbed the necklaces off of the pipe, before handing the red one to Haru and putting the blue one on himself. Haru put the red one around his neck as well.

And at that moment, the shells seemed to light up, just as their hearts had.

While Rin and Haru were going back to the reef, Haru suddenly stopped, biting his lip. Noticing the ravenette was no longer by his side, Rin turned back and saw Haru in his paused state.

"Haru.. what's wrong..?" Rin asked quietly with concern. Haru looked away from the Shark, his hair seeming to cover his eyes as he answered.

"Rin.. we both know this is wrong.. W-What's gonna happen if we get c-caught?" he questioned, voice cracking, signaling he was near crying if he wasn't crying already. Rin, noticing Haru's distress, quickly swam up to him, hugging the Dolphin tightly. Haru quickly returned the hug, feeling Rin's breath hitting his ear as the red-eyed male spoke.

"Haru. If anything were to ever happen, you know damn well that I would find a way to help you. I'd send my sister, Ai, Momo, or Sosuke if need be. We were made to be soulmates for a reason, right?" Hearing Rin's sincerity, Haru nodded without hesitation. "Right. I won't let anything happen to you, Haru. Believe me, please.."

"I.. I believe you.." Haru mumbled. Rin grinned, pulling away from him.

"There ya go.." he responded softly, still smiling. Haru smiled back, before he and Rin continued back to the reef.

Once back to the reef, Rin and Haru just rested there, finding comfort in each other's presence. While they didn't mind the calm silence, they talked about random topics on and off. That is, until Rin proposed something that really made Haru think.

"Hey, Haru.. if you're so worried about us getting caught.. then why don't we just ditch this place?"
