Delly
I was exhausted from living this life, masking my pain with un-existing joy. I was tired of being the one who had to act as if I was on top of the world, I couldn't be touched.
That was a lie.
The world crushed every speck of life out of my drying soul. Taking away all of the things I hoped for to get me free from this darkness I was in.
But, I knew there was only One, who could save my life from this ongoing pain and misery.
Forever

"Goodnight!"
I shouted raising up my hand into the air making a peace sign and I made my way backstage after performing five full songs from my new album: Gold.
I huffed as I walked in the five inched high heels to my dressing room to get out of this golden and red swimming costume they called a dress.
I wish I was home slacking off on my sofa while lazily surfing through the channels on DSTV to find something interesting to watch while I dipped my hands in popcorn.
"Here is the wonderful Delly Newman"
I turned to see Eden walking into the room and he closed the door behind him. I'm assuming he snuck into my room without anyone noticing.
I laughed and walked over to him to give my big brother a hug.
"Hey Eden"
I grinned as I pulled away. The brown haired boy smiled and walked over to the sofa to take a seat.
"Mom set this up huh?" He asked in a faint Zimbabwean accent scanning my room since it was his first time being here after three years of video chatting on Skype, Whatsapp and Vibe because of his recording career, we never had the chance to make plans to meet up and finally catch up.
It was a surprise to see him here and without a backstage pass, I guess mom didn't include him in this.
"Yeah. I wanted a small and simple looking dressing room, but she insisted and went way over the top. But I still got to keep the bean bag chair though"
I told him examining a lipstick tube. He was wearing a burgundy jacket with a grey t-shirt and navy blue jeans with grey Air-Max. He actually looked much more different from the last time I saw him.
He was much more serious and mature than his ignorant self.
I guess twenty-two makes people change quickly. Or it's just something else.
"How's mom?"
He asked.
"She's...herself. I heard you got your recording label with Britt Nicole right. How's that going?"
I asked grinning and he chuckled.
"Pretty good. But I can't say much about the star, until you hear my new release for Lecrae"
He informed me. It wasn't as nice as it was when I was always with him, before he left. It was as if his character had changed.
I walked over to him and sat down next to him. Eden stared at me and smiled.
"You alright sis?"
He asked. I wanted to tell him what had happened at the beach but I was interrupted by the woman who walked in.
She first looked at Eden, then at me.
To tell you honestly. These two never got along, that was the reason Eden left in the first place.
He couldn't stand that mom wouldn't accept him as the Christian he was. They fought when she found out he became a born-again and decided to chase him out of the house.
They never spoke and she never let me speak to him either.
The two stood feet away from each other, gazing at one another with both unreadable looks.
I felt solely uncomfortable about this. My brows furrowed and I frowned.
"Mom--"
"What are you doing here?"
She interrupted me, asking as if she hated him to the bone. I put my hands together to say something but he also cut me off.
"I was just here to see my baby sister after three years, and you mom. I missed you guys"
He admitted sincerely.
His voice was laced with hurt, as if he wanted to say more to her. I couldn't understand why she did this to him.
He never did anything wrong.
"As if that's true" She laughed hysterically. Both of us staring at her as if she was out of her mind.
"It is. I flew all the way here to see the two of yo--"
"Why is that huh? Can't you go back to your God and just forget about us? You seem to have done a great job at that for three straight years!" She yelled.
"Mom!" I shouted taking a step forward to defend my brother but he held me back after putting his arm out to block my path.
"It's fine Jada. Relax"
He told me.
"How could I? She's--"
Eden flashed me a serious look and he turned to mom. I know she wants him gone forever, it was just for me to not get distracted and be misled by my Christian brother.
What she said about him was all a lie.
I could see he had changed. He was finally free. And I wanted him to take me with.
Tears were falling down my face when he took a step forward. And I held onto his arm for dear life.
"You're just like you father. Stupid and pathetic. Why don't you leave us alone and go back to that hell you came from?"
"I didn't forget about either of you mom. I never would, you're family. And if it's too hard for you to see that I'm the Eden you knew years ago: I'll leave as you wish"
He said.
I watched as he left the room and slammed the door. I know he was angry. He never would back down in a fight or to even stop reasoning with mom.
She came over to me, intending to give me a hug, and I reaped myself away from her, feeling my hands tremble as I sobbed. And I walked away from her to take a seat in the sofa.
