Delly

I finally had it. Finally experienced dying. I don't know where I was or what I was doing here.

My head turned left and right looking around the room. I felt like I was hit by a truck, then elephants came and stomped on me as I sat up slowly.

I was hooked up to an IV when I tried stretching and I frowned.

"David?"

I furrowed my brows staring at the boy who had his head buried in his arms and he was facing the other side of the room.

I didn't get any response. I gently placed my hand on his head to wake him up, only to have him jolt up from his sleep.

David brushed his hair back with his fingers and groaned.

He must have really been enjoying his slumber. I smiled and glanced over at the door.

"How long have I been out?"

"About a day"

He answered bluntly. Still a little bit groggy.

"What?"

"I mean-For a few hours. The doctor says you'll be fine if you stay away from water for a while"

He answered and huffed. David got to his feet and walked over to a glass of water with a bottle of pills.

He came over to me and gave me to take.

"I'm sorry"

I whispered. I felt bad for putting him through all of this. We don't even know each other and he was so kind as to actually run over to the hospital and have me treated after he saved my life the third time.

I was embarrassed because I couldn't swim. It was a good advantage so I couldn't be able to save myself from my own suicide.

"For what?"

"Putting you in trouble. I'm sure I can make it up to--" I cut myself off when I recalled that he left his camera.

"I can get you a new camera" I chimed already planning to get out of here and get to the nearest shop and buy him a new and much better camera than the former one.

"No, stop. You don't have to repay me with anything. I can just go get my camera back from the--"

"Just please let me do this for you" I said sadly. David paused for a moment and he relaxed. The boy gave me a warm smile and nodded his head.

"I'll be right back" He assured me and made his way out of the room. He came back with a doctor a few seconds later and sat down in the same place he was.

"Miss Newman. I'm Dr. Ward"

He introduced himself with a friendly smile on his face. He looked like one of those smart scientists. He stared at me with his sky blue eyes behind his thick framed glasses.

I wondered how he even knew my last name, it's not like I've been here before is it?

"I take it, you fell off a cliff?"

He asked.

"Yes"

"How do you feel now?"

He asked me. It was as if I was a suspect and he was a police officer as he asked me these questions.

Do doctors have to be so curious about their patients every time?

"I feel, pain. My chest is aching"

I said and he nodded. A nurse walked in with a bag filled with some clear liquid and she came and removed the empty one and replaced it with the new one.
