Colby's POV

Monday. Everyone's favorite day of the week. I roll out of bed and walk over to my closet and pull out one of my black sweatshirts and a pair of black skinny jeans. I throw on my clothes before I turn around and start to walk out of my room when I stub my toe on the doorframe. I let out a string of curse words as I hop around on one foot till the pain eases.

"COLBY! Watch your language!" My mom shouts down the hall. I groan and walk into the kitchen and grab a pop tart from the pantry.

As I'm eating, I hear the front door open followed by Sam walking into the kitchen a few seconds later.

"Hey Colbs. Ready to go?" He asks.

"I guess. My toe hurts like a bit-...bugger." I change my choice of words as my mom shoots me a glare.

Sam laughs, "Why?" He asks.

"Stubbed it on my doorframe." I say as I grab my bag from the kitchen counter.

"Door 1, Colby 0." Sam chuckles as he heads for the front door with me a few steps behind.

"Ha ha...very funny Sam..." I say sarcastically.

"Kinda like your face!" Sam shoots back automatically.

"I almost felt that one." I reply as I walk out the front door behind Sam.

As we are walking, my mind starts to wander when Sam suddenly stops with a puzzled look on his face. He turns and looks at me before he asks, "Wouldn't a unicycle with training wheels actually be a tricycle?"

I just stop and stare at him for a minute while I process his question.

"The things that go through your mind really amaze me when you say them out loud." I say as I shake my head and chuckle before I start walking down the street again.

"I'm being serious though! Wouldn't it be a tricycle?" he shouts after me as he jogs to catch up to me.

I stop and pivot to face him before stating simply, "Yes Samuel, it would be a tricycle. Now that I have answered your interesting question, can we please get to school? I can't afford to be late again."

Sam just laughs and takes off sprinting down the sidewalk. I start jogging and manage to catch up to him in no time before easily passing him. 3 minutes later Sam finally catches me outside the school, breathing very heavily.

"What's wrong Sam? You seem a bit tired." I laugh as he hunches over and places his hands on his knees, trying to catch his breath.

"I don't...know...what you...mean by...tired." He manages to pant out. I just laugh and pull him inside so we aren't late to class.

As I walk inside, I feel a pair of eyes on my back. I turn around but don't see anyone, so I shrug and keep walking down the hall with Sam towards the band room.

Unknown POV

I watch Colby walk down the hall with the blonde kid towards the band room. He turns around looking for something before he shrugs and keeps going. He doesn't know that I saw him running this morning. He just confirmed my suspicions from this weekend. I whip out my phone and send a text before I head to my first class.

Now I just have to find a way to get both Courtney and Colby. How I'm gonna do that is currently being worked out. But soon, those two things will not be able to create more abominations like them.

Mysterious POV

Courtney doesn't know. She can't know. I want to tell her but I can't. It'll only put her  and me in more danger than what we are already in. I can't risk that. I want to tell her the one thing that I've had to hide from her for years. But I can't. She can never find out that she's my sister.
